Servicing the Whole Community: An introduction to multilingual and multicultural health information resources
Libraries are often a first stop for the public as they search for quality information on health topics. This one-hour webinar is designed to assist librarians and others who work with diverse populations in locating health information. In this class, there will be a brief overview of the current landscape of immigrants, refugees and asylees in the United States, a discussion of the differences between cultural competence and cultural humility and how they influence the workplace environment, and a presentation on a variety of reliable websites that provide quality health information in multiple languages.
This project is funded by the National Library of Medicine, National Institutes of Health, Department of Health and Human Services, under Cooperative Agreement Number UG4LM012347 with the University of Massachusetts Chan Medical School, Worcester.
