Boerne Middle School North – Girls Soccer Recap
This past weekend, the 8th grade Boerne Middle School North girls soccer team competed in the district championship against a tough Medina Valley squad. Though the result was a narrow 1-0 loss, what these young women displayed on the field was far more important than a final score.
They played with unmatched heart, relentless determination, and the kind of unity that defines championship teams. From the first whistle to the final seconds, they left everything on the field—and made us all proud to be part of this program.
While we didn’t walk away with the banner, we walk away with something even greater: the knowledge that this group is destined for greatness. Their drive, talent, and character will only grow from here. They are becoming faster, stronger, smarter—and soon, truly unstoppable.
To say I’m proud is an understatement. The future is burning bright for these remarkable young women.
Come out, wear your purple and cheer on your Lady Greyhounds as they battle for the district crown! Let’s pack the stands and show our pride Go Greyhounds!
Sweet Revenge: Lady Hounds Claim District Championship in Dominant Fashion
Boerne Middle School North got their redemption when it mattered most, facing off against Capt. Mark Tyler Voss Middle School at Boerne ISD Stadium in a highly anticipated rematch — this time, for the district championship title.
Earlier in the season, the Greyhounds suffered a tough 4-1 loss to the Eagles. But the district final told a different story. Fueled by passion, pride, and a roaring home crowd, the Lady Hounds flipped the script, defeating Voss by the same score — 4-1 — to claim the district crown.
With the stands packed and the energy electric, the Lady Hounds fed off the incredible support from family, friends, and fans. The atmosphere was nothing short of electric, and it pushed the team to new heights.
Despite missing team captain Hallie Jonas, the Lady Hounds delivered a dominant performance across the pitch. Offensively, Reagan Barsetti continued her record-setting season, netting two more goals to add to her impressive tally. Reese Yost also rose to the occasion, contributing two clutch goals of her own.
On the defensive end, Boerne was locked in. Led by Kamdyn Swayer and Ensley Merkins, the back line shut down Voss’s attack with grit and heart, allowing just one goal in the entire match.
Congratulations to the 7th grade Lady Hounds on an unforgettable season and a well-earned district championship — you made your school and community proud!
