Hello Vinewood Families,

I hope everyone is having a safe and enjoyable summer break. On behalf of our staff, we extend a warm welcome to all our students and families. Vinewood’s staff and I are looking forward to building a positive relationship with all of you through clear communication and a caring attitude. I believe in collective vision and goals where every student will succeed with happiness which is established by creating a learning environment where the whole school community feels safe, supported, and respected. Vinewood's professional learning community had an outstanding 2023-2024 school year, and we are looking forward to an even better, successful year.

I am pleased to announce that our student restrooms for K - 3 graders are being completely remodeled. However, it will not be ready until mid-August despite contractors working all summer. Our district has obtained a 10 station event trailer (see below) for our 1st - 3rd grade students to use for the first few weeks of school. It is the top of the line with air conditioning, flushable toilets, and running sinks. Kindergarten restrooms should get done by August 5th. Until then, they will have portable restrooms with a flushable toilet and a hand washing station.

We are looking for volunteers to help with Spirit Wear sales (bit.ly/VPCSpiritVolunteer24) & our Mustang Store (bit.ly/MustangStore24).

Save the date for our first meeting on Weds 8/7 from 6-7pm.

We are excited to announce that this year, families will be able to verify their child's elementary school teacher and secondary school class schedule through our online data confirmation process. Starting on July 19, 2024, at 10:00 AM, parents who have completed the online data confirmation will be able to access this information. We encourage all parents to complete the online data confirmation process by following the instructions in the flyer below. Please be aware that we no longer post class lists at the front of our school due to privacy laws. Please contact our office at 331-7445 if you need assistance.

We have scheduled kindergarten (Rooms 1 and 2) and first grade (Rooms 3, 4, and 5) Meet and Greet from 3:00-3:30 p.m. on Monday, July 29th. Also, our fabulous Parent Club will be selling our newly designed Vinewood gear from 3:00-3:30 and 5:00-6:00 p.m. in our school’s Courtyard.

We will also have an open campus on Monday, July 29th, from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. This is a chance for students and parents to walk around and find their classrooms before the first day of school on Tuesday, July 30th. Since our school is a closed campus, this is your opportunity to help your child know where to go on the morning of July 30th. Also, please view the Google map of our campus below. Our fabulous Parent Club is hosting an Ice Cream Social in our Courtyard during the Open Campus hours.

Universal free meals will be offered at no cost to any student enrolled in the Lodi Unified School District, when they are in attendance. The California Universal Meals Program will provide students access to breakfast and lunch during each school day free of charge regardless of their income or eligibility. No application is needed for meals, but we do request that you complete a Household Family Survey or Parent Data confirmation in Aeries to help qualify your school for supplemental program funding. Students are welcome to bring their home lunch as well.

Lodi Unified participates in the National School Lunch and Breakfast Programs, as well as the Child and Adult Care Food Program for after school meals. For additional information about our programs, menus, special diet forms, P-EBT eligibility, nutrition education and fundraisers please visit https://foodservice.lodiusd.net.

Our Back to School Night will be Thursday, August 1st. You can attend either session 1 or session 2 for teacher presentation. This important evening is designed for parents and teachers to discuss how your child can be successful in their classrooms, and how our teaming together will help make 2024-2025 their best school year ever! We do ask that students do not attend this evening event, so we can talk as adults without any interruptions.

Vinewood 2024-2025 Student/Parent Handbook

Students are provided a chromebook (2-6th) or Touch Chromebook (K-1st) to use during school. If a student purposely and intentionally damages, steals or loses the classroom device, the child and parent will be responsible for the cost. Repair or replacement cost varies with the device ($50 - $310) and the estimate will range depending upon the situation. We highly recommend that you purchase our district's Chromebook Care Plan. Coverage costs $25 per duration minus any prior year incentives. Policies purchased mid-year will not be prorated.
