Andrews Elementary
September 20, 2024
Hello Andrews Families
Students and staff had a great time celebrating Education Go Get It Week! It was inspiring to see the future aspirations of our Andrews Eagles and learn about the people who motivate them. Thank you for helping your child participate in the dress-up days and celebrating the amazing individuals they are and will become.
Next week, we kick off the PTA Fun Run, our main fundraiser this year. Funds raised will support grade-level field trips and PTA programs that directly benefit your child. The Run will be part of the Dash and Bash event on Tuesday, October 8, with the In-N-Out Burger Truck on-site. Pre-orders for food are required by October 4. More details are in the newsletter.
Additionally, our first PTA General Meeting and Parent Connection Workshop will be on Thursday, September 26. Ms. Garcia's workshop begins at 5 p.m. and will offer tips for your child’s success this year. Following that, the PTA General Meeting will start at 5:30 p.m. in the cafeteria. We hope to see you there!
We value the strong partnership between our school and community through the Andrews PTA and are excited to see it grow. This month, the PTA is holding a membership drive—the grade level with the most memberships by the end of the month will win a popsicle party and extra recess. Details are below.

Allen Americans Student & Family Night
Would you like to have a fun outing with family and friends while also supporting Andrews Elementary at the same time? Consider going to the Allen Americans game on Wednesday, October 30. Tickets purchased through the QR code on the flyer below will have a portion of the ticket sales donated directly back to Andrews Elementary. Additionally, if we are the school with the most sales then Biscuit the mascot will make a special appearance at Andrews Elementary. Invite your friends and family to join you to make it a fun and special night.
**Please note that ONLY tickets purchased through the QR codes will direct the sales donation back to the school. Tickets purchased through the Allen Americans website will not have a place to type your school of choice, thus not donating a portion of sales back to the school or counting towards Andrews total ticket sales for Biscuit's visit.**
PACE (Gifted and Talented) Information
Please click the presentation below to learn more about the PACE program as well as the referral process. The deadline to refer students for testing this year is October, 11th by 5:00 pm. Referral forms are available in both English and Spanish below.
This year will be the inaugural year for our HEArt of Andrews award. This award if aimed at inspiring our students to think about how they can contribute to our community and grow academically but also in character and in the arts. Students who choose to participate in all three events this year will be award the HEArt of Andrews award at our last assembly of the 2024-2025 school year. Students do not need to place in any of the competitions (Kindness Card or Science Fair). This is a way to encourage our students to do something in three separate areas offered to students on our campus. The first of the three events for our HEArt of Andrews award is the Kindness Card Challenge. Information will be given to students beginning Tuesday, September 3, in Art class from Ms. Swenson.
Additional information about the other two events (Science Fair and Community Service Project) will come as those events become closer.
