Turnitin Videos and Information
The training videos for Turnitin have been posted to the library topics page. The videos are posted as a link on the left-hand side of the page or tap the blue link for videos. There are two videos for students, as well.
For shorter assignments where formatting is not an issue, an option would be to have students cut and paste their assignments into the text box. The library lab computers or the two computers in the library are available to use for posting assignments.

October is Dyslexia Awareness Month
Dyslexia is not just mixing up letters.
Dyslexia is a neurological condition that affects the way that the brain processes information.
Reading can be a challenge for students with Dyslexia.
How can we support our students? Some of these ideas are good ideas for all students.
1. Support various formats of texts.
2. Audiobooks activate the same areas in the brain as traditional reading. We currently only have one digital audiobook. However, the public library has an incredible collection. See me for help setting up your account. Many of the articles in the databases have a listen feature.
3. Comics/Graphic Novels the shorter, more concise text and the font style used by many comics are more accessible for students to read.
4. Large print books and colored backgrounds make reading easier.
5. Sans Serif fonts are a better choice.

Serious Biography with a Little Humor
Born a Crime is the story of a mischievous young boy who grows into a restless young man as he struggles to find himself in a world where he was never supposed to exist. It is also the story of that young man’s relationship with his fearless, rebellious, and fervently religious mother—his teammate, a woman determined to save her son from the cycle of poverty, violence, and abuse that would ultimately threaten her own life.
A Little Spooky
Meanwhile, Benny Imura and his gang set out on a journey to finish what Captain Joe Ledger started: they’re going to find a cure. After what they went through in the Rot and Ruin, they think they’ve seen it all, but as they venture into new and unexplored territory, they soon learn that the zombies they fought before were nothing compared to what they’ll face in the wild beyond the peace and safety of their fortified town.
