Administrator's Message
We equate thankfulness to the month of October. We have had one month of school and there are so many things to be grateful for thus far.
- The ability to be connected with each other. We are social beings and we have a basic need to be connected with each other.
- The positive working relationship we have with our parents. Learning is a team effort by everyone - student, teacher and parent.
- The return of many activities back in school; in person learning, sporting events, leadership activities, student teacher and parents in the building.
- Community donation from Busy Bee to Tofield School $500.00
- Five international students attending Tofield school this year
- Active and engaged school council

Three Senior High students participated in the Central Zone Cross-Country Running Championships hosted in Red Deer. It was a beautiful course. A job well done to Peter Asante (Grade 10) and Kevin Gordon (Grade 10) who finished very well in the Junior Boys division.
Congratulations to Damien MacLeod who qualified for Provincials on Saturday, October 15 in Enoch, AB. He finished 15th in the intermediate boys category. Good job and well done to all 3 boys that participated.
Volleyball is up and running.
Our Junior High Boys went to a tournament in Hay Lakes where they won the silver medal. Great Job and well done by the players and coaches.
Our Junior High Girls will be playing in a tournament in Charlie Killam. Good luck girls.
Our Junior High teams (Girls and Boys) are currently undefeated in Div 2 league play with wins over Ryley and Round Hill.
Our Senior High Girls Volleyball Team lost their first 2A East league game by a very close score to Blessed Sacrament from Wainwright. They lost in the best of three in the third game. Was an exciting match with some very good plays.
The Golf season is complete.

Update from North Star Outreach Program
North Star Outreach Off and Running for the 2022-2023 School Year
The new school year has started and Northstar Outreach School (NSO) is humming along nicely. NSO staff are able to accommodate a wide variety of high school students. Many are here all day, while others we share with Tofield School (our Blended students) To date we have 24 students enrolled in multiple courses. We are currently running over 20 different courses and have already had 12 course completions (4 single credit courses and 7 CORE (Math, Social Science and English) ) - not bad for one month in!
We also offer a great breakfast program which is available all day, pre-made sandwiches for lunches and students can also earn credits with our Foods Program.
NSO would not be able to provide this for our students without the tremendous support from BRSD, Tofield School administration and staff, and the community! In particular, we would like to thank Busy Bee for their generous monetary donation and for providing NSO with any kitchen wares that we might need. Next, the wonderful Ms. Dawn Arnold and the ladies at the Food Bank who always greet us with a smile and provide as much of our food items as they can. Of course, we can’t forget to mention Ms. Kay Procter, who, with supplies from the food bank, generously donates her time to make us tasty sandwiches every week!
Without this continued and generous support, we would not be able to fulfill the needs of our students and provide them with the opportunity to thrive. It truly does take a village.
Thank you!
