Trimester 2 report cards will be released this Thursday, March 28. A physical copy will be sent home in student backpacks and a copy will be sent to parent/guardian email addresses that are on file at EVCS.

EVCS will be hosting our lottery on Zoom, April 9 at 12:30 PM for the 2024-2025 academic school year. If you or someone you know has completed a new student application, you are welcome to attend and see the results live.

Attendance is not mandatory and families do not have to be in attendance on April 9 to be selected. Emails and notifications will be sent sharing the results of the lottery. Applications are due April 5.

Reminder that school begins at 8:00 AM sharp.

Please make sure your child is present and on time. If your child will not be school or if you are running late please communicate using the SDM app or give us a call.

Each year prior to conducting our lottery, we ask families to re-enroll their children or notify us if they are considering withdrawing. In an effort to simplify this practice, we no longer require parents/guardians to complete a re-enrollment packet in SchoolMint.

While we do not have school on April 8, you can learn more about Eclipse safety and find resources on the The Buffalo Museum of Science's 2024 Eclipse page.

Courtesy of the Buffalo Community PTA, each EVCS student will receive one free pair of eclipse glasses. These will be going home with your student before spring break.

Please make sure to follow all eclipse safety guidelines, including not looking directly at the sun without safety glasses.

If you take photos during the Eclipse that you would like to share with the broader EVCS and Buffalo community, please send them to cketter-franklin@elmwoodvillageschool.org

This includes Beecher and Butler Clubhouses.

Place your orders between March 18-29, treats will be passed out on April 12.

Did you know Hertel Literacy Night will feature a special surprise guest appearance? Make sure to join us March 28 to meet them! Students are highly encouraged to wear their favorite sports gear.

Additionally, the event will feature:

• Talking Leaves Book Fair with a special 20% discount

Dismissal:

Office pickup: Starting on 12/1/2023 we will NOT allow any dismissal from the main office after 2:30 P.M. If you attempt to retrieve a student you will be directed to enter the dismissal line.

Pickup: All children who are dismissed to a guardian must be picked up by 3:30 p.m. Our dismissal begins at 3:05 p.m.

School Dismissal Manager All families must use this tool daily. Not entering the proper dismissal directions causes severe risk for your child. Without proper dismissal directions, it causes the possibility that your child will be dismissed incorrectly.

Bus loop: Do not park in this area after 2:00 p.m. This is used for our entire dismissal process. When a car is parked in this area it causes major safety issues.

Hello EVCS families,

Hope all is well. We would love to have our families support our school by volunteering to help during our lunch periods. This will include helping students open food containers, reminding students to clean their area, and allowing for an extra set of eyes to help students with any needs. With the cold weather here, it is important that children dress properly for the elements. Jackets, hats, gloves/mittens, and boots should be brought to school daily, as children have recess outside most days. Some of our field trips are outdoors as well and we want to be sure children are protected so they are able to enjoy the fresh air safely and comfortably.
