New Uniform
It's been a joy to see our pupils sporting their new jumpers with such pride! The fresh logo has certainly made an impact, and we're thrilled with the positive response from both children and parents alike. For those eager to get their hands on more, Classroom Clothing in Selby is currently stocking items with our new logo. We're also excited to share that we've partnered with APC Clothing, offering slightly lower prices through their online platform (though do bear in mind there's a small postage and packaging charge).
In our quest to make uniform options even more accessible, we're exploring ways to provide parents with the logo directly. This would allow for a potentially more cost-effective route through local embroidery services. Rest assured, we're committed to finding the best solutions for our families. And remember, children are more than welcome to continue wearing items with the old logo or plain blue uniform - our focus is on comfort and practicality, not just aesthetics.
As always, thank you for your continued support and engagement with our school community. Together, we're creating a vibrant, safe, and nurturing environment for our pupils to thrive.
Meet the Governors! What do they do?
We wanted to take a moment to introduce you to our School Governors and explain a little about what they do. They're a fantastic group of volunteers who care deeply about our school and our children's education.
Think of them as a supportive "team behind the scenes" for the school. They work closely with me, Mrs Houlden and the other staff , helping to shape the school's overall direction and make sure it's a great place for everyone to learn and grow. They're involved in decisions about things like the school's vision for the future, how the school's money is spent, and making sure we have good policies in place. They're like a "critical friend" to the school, offering support and challenge to help us all keep improving.
If you have a query or concern
While our Governors are passionate about the school, they're not involved in the day-to-day running. That's the great work of the whole school team. There are the people you should talk to if you have any questions or concerns about your child's learning or anything else happening at school. Your child's teacher is always the best first point of contact, followed by the Mrs Houlden or Mrs Lawrence. They're there to help!
Our Governors focus on the bigger picture, making sure the school is moving in the right direction and providing the best possible education for all our children. They're a valuable part of our school community, and we're very grateful for their dedication!

PTA News
A big round of applause goes to Class 3 for their fantastic efforts with this week's Bunday Monday sale. Their hard work paid off, raising valuable funds for our PTA. Speaking of which, don't forget that next Thursday is disco night! Tickets are available directly from the PTA - it's sure to be a fun-filled evening for all.
I'd like to extend my thanks to our dedicated PTA members. Your tireless efforts in supporting our school and families do not go unnoticed. To all the families who consistently support these events, your participation makes a real difference.
Class 1 Stay & Play
This week, our EYFS classroom was abuzz with activity during our stay and play session. It was wonderful to see so many parents join us, including some new faces! Mrs Fox took the opportunity to introduce a Thrive activity, shedding light on how this approach supports our children's emotional and social development. For those interested in learning more about Thrive and how you can incorporate its principles at home, please take a moment to review the informative leaflet we've attached.
Our next Stay and play is on Friday 28th March at 8:45-9:45am where we will have a ‘Mothers and others’ inspired session.
Trust Safeguarding Newsletter
I'd like to draw your attention to an important topic that affects us all - our children's mental health and well-being. This month's safeguarding newsletter focuses on this crucial subject, with a particular emphasis on the importance of sleep. In our fast-paced world, it's easy to underestimate the impact of good sleep habits on a child's overall health, academic performance, and emotional well-being. I encourage all parents and carers to take some time to read through this newsletter. It contains valuable insights and practical tips that can help ensure our children are getting the rest they need to flourish.
Internet Safety Day
I want to remind everyone that next Tuesday is Internet Safety Day. We'll be delving into crucial topics such as online safety, the concept of consent in the digital world, and how to identify potential online risks. It's an invaluable opportunity for our pupils to enhance their digital literacy and safety awareness.
