Business Department Students of the Month of October
Ms. Villar and Mrs. Perala have selected Hailey Markham and Ian Kauppila as the Business Students of the Month.
Hailey is an asset in both of her current business classes, Entrepreneurship and Digital Publications. She is highly motivated and approaches every project with enthusiasm, never shying away from a challenge. Hailey’s positive energy is contagious, and she’s the type of person people feel comfortable approaching for help or advice as she is always willing to lend a hand. Whether collaborating with classmates or offering to lead a group, Hailey exudes confidence and warmth, making her not only a natural leader but also a supportive teammate.
Ian has been a part of the business department throughout his high school career. In particular, he has focused his studies on our computer programming courses. Ian excels in problem solving and he is always eager to dive into challenging projects such as learning multiple coding languages at the same time. He is a delight to have in class and his sense of humor brings a lighthearted atmosphere to the classroom. Ian’s humility keeps him grounded, never boasting about his skills, but his work ethic and determination speak volumes to his abilities.

WHS Students Attend MHSAA Sportsmanship Summitt at NMU
WHS Athletic Director, Mr. Skewis and 9 of our Student-Athletes attended the MHSAA Sportsmanship Summit at Northern Michigan University. Students participated in several breakout sessions revolving around things like officials, student sections, parent involvement, and many other topics. At the end of the summit the students came together to start drawing up a plan of how they’d like to improve the student experience and atmosphere at athletic events going forward!
A big thank you to MHSAA for putting on a great event!
