Universal ID Cards
The cards have arrived!
We started distributing the ID Cards today. It may take a few days for all schools to get them to students. We encourage students to start using the cards for bus transportation and meal service as soon as you get them.
When students swipe the card to get on the bus, families can track student departure and arrival times. This will improve communication and the safety of our students. In addition, the time it takes to serve meals will significantly improve.
A few things to keep in mind:
- Help students create a routine of putting on the lanyard each day to scan on the bus.
- Have the card ready when they walk on the bus or in food lines; digging in a backpack will slow down the process.
- The pictures displayed are from last year.
- Kindergarten and new students to the district will receive a card after school pictures are taken.
- If you want a new card, it will be a $5 fee.
We know this is new and will take a team effort in creating new habits. Student safety is a priority, and efficient operations improve everyone's experience.
Meal Payments
Good News..Skyward is showing meal balances!
The inTouch Payment system is now connected to Skyward. You will now see your balance in your student's account.
Please go online and put money on your child's account for meal fees.
Attendance and Reporting Absences
Attendance is extremely important to a student's success.
If you do not report them absent, an automated email/phone/text message will be sent indicating you child has an unexcused absence.
The quickest way to report or correct an unexcused absence is to log into Family Access and click the "attendance tile" and "absence request."
Technology Assurance Fees
All students are assessed a $10 technology fee.
Free & Reduced Meal Applications
Submit applications by October 15!
The federal Free & Reduced Meal Applications are now available. We strongly encourage all parents/guardians to submit a Meal Application who qualify even though our elementary schools received free meals. Without applications, schools may not qualify in the future. Completing an application takes less than 10 minutes, and parents only need to complete one Meal Application.
Appplications are only available in paper for and can be downloaded from our website. Please submit them to the Food Service Department at YCSfoodservice@ycs.wednet.edu. Once you submit an application, you will receive a notice as to whether your child/children can receive free or reduced-price meals.
If you qualified last year, your benefits will expire on October 15. Be sure to get your application in to avoid any meal changes.
EVERY ELIGIBLE FORM COUNTS! Every eligible form that is not submitted means lost resources for our schools.
