Madrona Newsletter
February 3, 2025
Dear Madrona Families,
February is here! This month will be full of exciting events, celebrations, and learning opportunities for our students! We are thrilled to share some of the special activities happening at Madrona this month.
Black History Month
Throughout February, we will honor and celebrate Black History Month by learning about the achievements and contributions of African Americans. Our students will engage in classrom discussions, read inspiring stories, and participate in special projects that highlight the importance of diversity, inclusion, and history.
Chinese New Year
We will continue to welcome the Year of the Snake with festivities that include classroom activities, arts and crafts, and learning about the traditions of Chinese New Year. This is a wonderful opportunity for students to explore different cultures and appreciate the beauty of global celebrations.
Valentine's Day - February 14th & 100th Day of School Celebration
This year, our 100th day of school celebration will occur on February 14th, Valentine's Day. Our theme this year is "We Love 100!", which will allow us to incorporate Valentine's day with math. Classroom teachers will engage their students in special math activiites based on what they are currently learning and post them in their classrooms for all to see. We will have a schoolwide gallery walk to view this amazing work across our school.
Other Important Dates and Reminders:
- Mid-Winter Break - No school: 2/17 - 2/21
- Kindergarten FAME Night: 2/27/25
- SAS Assembly: 2/28/25 @ 1:50 pm
We appreciate your continued support in making Madrona a great place for learning and growth. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out.
Wishing you all a fantastic February!
Mrs. Regina Carter

Madrona Yearbook
Madrona Year Book 24-25 School Year
Again this year, we are partnering with Treering to prepare our yearbook. This will allow us to capture memories of our school year and each individual student's growth across the year.
Just like last year, every student will be able to personalize 2 free pages with photos and selected memories they would like to capture in their own book. This is not mandatory, but it is an option families can choose. If you choose to purchase the custom pages, you must order your book by May 2nd, 2025.
Here's the information you will need to order your book. First, create your free account on the website: www.treering.com/validate. Enter our school passcode: 101696453284409. You can order your book for $21.88 until May 16th, 2025.
If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to email me at sjwalker@seattleschools.org. We're looking forward to building an epic yearbook with you this year!
Thank you,
Ms. Shai
