Greetings Poynter Families,

I hope your students had a wonderful winter break. As we return to school, students will be given the opportunity to reestablish school routines. We will start on Monday and Tuesday by reviewing school-wide expectations.

There are several great opportunities coming up to connect with us. First, we have our Latino Family PAC on Tuesday, January 7th. We will have a Principal Chat the following Tuesday where we will gather feedback from families regarding a vision for Poynter's future. We look forward to seeing everyone there.

Students attending public schools in Oregon must have all required vaccinations or a medical or nonmedical exemption to remain enrolled after February 19, 2025. Our school-based health center at Century High School is holding a series of vaccine events in January and February to ensure students have the vaccines they need in advance of this date. The next event takes place on Tuesday, January 14.

Winter sports are starting January 21. There will be dodgeball and volleyball. Click here to register.

Families are invited to a principal chat on January 14. We have been doing some work around Poynter's vision. I will be updating families on this work and getting feedback to help inform our choices. Below, you'll see a word cloud that combines the values that Poynter staff, students, and families have identified as important. We will meet in the library at 6:00pm.
