PICTURES AND NEWS
VOYAGERS AT THE ST. ALBANS LIBRARY AND HARD'ACK RECREATION AREA
On Friday, the 4th grade Voyagers walked to the St Albans Free Library where they learned about the summer programming and then walked to Hard’Ack to plant fruit trees near the pool. The trees were donated by Reagan Lareau’s father who coordinated the entire planting process! Imagine how nice it will be to go to the Hard'ack recreation area in 6-10 years and be able to eat fruit from those trees.
It was a beautiful day to walk and dig holes.
CITY SCHOOL MUSICIANS CELEBRATED END-OF-YEAR WITH PERFORMANCES AND FUN AT THE GREAT ESCAPE AMUSEMENT PARK
On Friday, May 31st, band and chorus members from City School joined with other musically inclined students from the district for a special end-of-year field trip to the Glens Falls area of New York State. They bussed from the Collins Perley sports complex over to Queensbury High School where they performed and then shortly after that they visited the Great Escape Amusement Park. From the pictures Ms. Brooks took of the event, it is clear that the day was a special one. The trip lasted from 7:00 AM to 8:30 PM - a long and full day.
SACS TRACK AND FIELD SHINES AT STATE MEET: JOSEPH MISSOURI AND CLAIR DESORGHER EXCELLED IN FINAL COMPETITION
This weekend, the SACS track and field team wrapped up their season at the state meet. The meet was held at UVM, where teams from all over Vermont competed. Athletes qualified for the event by hitting set qualifying marks. SACS had one athlete qualify for the event. Joseph Missouri represented SACS in the 100 meter dash, the 200 meters and the long jump. While competing in the long jump, Joseph tied his personal record with a jump of 15 feet 5 inches. This was an opportunity for Joseph to compete against other very strong athletes from around the state and he did incredibly well!
While Joseph was the only athlete to qualify individually, Claire DeSorgher was asked last minute to fill in for a relay for the SATEC team. They needed a 4th runner and she stepped up to the plate to help them out. She helped their team set a personal record in the 4x400 meter relay by over 20 seconds. Claire continues to impress us with her willingness to help out others and hard work in track and field.
Congrats to everyone on a successful season!
COUNT DOWN TO THE LAST DAY OF SCHOOL
Team Discovery has a count-down-board and a different way to celebrate each passing day. Monday was sports day and here are the pictures from the students who dressed up and who were willing to be photographed.

FLAG RETIREMENT CEREMONY
June 14th, 10:00 am
Mt. Calvary Cemetery
Team USA in conjunction with the VFW and American Legion will be co-hosting a flag retirement ceremony. We have numerous boxes of old flags that have been prepared by students for a proper retirement. This is a solemn and dignified event. Ceremonies to retire a flag can differ from each other. The short ceremony will include a few words shared by the veterans, pledge of allegiance, taps, and an honor guard with a three rifle volley. The rifles will be fired as a part of the ceremony. There will be a fire onsite to dispose of the flags. The ashes will be buried the following day.
Example of a ceremony - https://youtu.be/tdHXR0PYCuY
Flags needing to be retired can be dropped off at Team USA.
