Principal's Message
What an exciting time to be at school!
๐ Winter Wonderland: Our school is transforming into a magical winter wonderland! The students enjoy joining in on festive crafts and the warmth of holiday cheer as we celebrate the joy of the season.
๐ Middle of the Year Testing: We will be completing our ILEARN Checkpoint 2 at the end of January. These Checkpoints have replaced NWEA in grades 3-8.
๐ Gifts of Giving: As we celebrate the season of giving, our school community is coming together to spread kindness and warmth. Classrooms are collecting items for food baskets to support families in need in our community (see flier below).
๐ Winter Performances: We are excited to have our winter concerts on Dec 4th (for 3rd grade) and Dec 5th (for 4th grade) in the new auditorium.
๐๏ธ Save the Date:
- Dec 4th: Third Grade Winter Concert @ 7pm
- Dec 5th: Fourth Grade Winter Concert @ 7pm
- Dec 23rd: Winter Break Begins
- Jan 6th- First student day back
As we deck the halls and embrace the festive spirit, I'd like to extend warm wishes to our wonderful ICIS families. Thank you for the continued support and enthusiasm that makes our school community shine brightly!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Rollings

AP Announcements
DOE has made school attendance a priority for all public institutions in the state. Regular school attendance can help support academic progress, concept development, social skills development, a positive learning environment, early learning habits, and positive teacher-student relationships. Prioritizing attending school on a regular basis can also help to avoid academic underachievement, social isolation, and low self-esteem.
For more information on the state's attendance initiative and how Indian Creek Schools rates compare to other districts across the state, check out the IDOE Attendance Dashboard.

Happy December!! One of my favorite months of the year because the students get to participate in our annual service project, Filling the Basket 2024. Every student will have the opportunity to bring in items to help brighten the holidays for families in our community. As the holidays approach and life gets busier, please remember to check in with your student(s) and ask how they are doing. Sometimes we get so busy with everyday life that we forget our students can have big emotions too. Set time aside each night to check in and ask how their day went. Some of those little moments with them can turn into big moments later. Enjoy the holiday season!

A Note from Our Nurse...
Now that the weather is changing, it may be helpful for students to bring these items to school! We try to take them outside for recess, weather permitting. Not all of these things are always available in the clinic.
1. Lotion for chapped hands
2. Chapstick for chapped lips.
3. Coats or Sweatshirts
4. Hats and Gloves
5. Water!!! Water!!! Water!!!
Thank you,
Nurse Melissa

3)A portion of your gift goes back to the Indian Creek Education Foundation to fund classroom grants.

Afternoon Car Rider Safety Reminder!
Parents and students, we need your help to keep our pick-up process safe for everyone! Middle and high school students should not walk through parking lots to join the ICES/ICIS car rider pick-up line. For everyoneโs safety, ICMS/ICHS car riders must be picked up behind their respective buildings.
If youโre picking up students from both ICES/ICIS and ICMS/ICHS, please plan to drive to each location. Starting next week, middle and high school students who attempt to continue with this unsafe practice will be asked to stand with Mr. Long and Mrs. Rollings until the traffic line clears completely, and then they will be walked back to ICHS to wait for pick-up.
Thank you for your cooperation in keeping our students safe!
