OVERALL TAX RATE LOWER: How will this bond not raise the overall tax rate?
The overall tax rate will be lower next year if the bond passes or fails.
The Maintenance & Operations tax rate is scheduled to drop from $0.915 to $0.8976 due to the recent compression as a result of House Bill 3. The Interest & Sinking (I&S) rate will increase to $0.500 if the bond passes. Due to the M&O rate compression, the overall tax rate impact to homeowners would be a decrease of $0.0024 if the bond passes.
BOND 2022: Who developed the Bond proposal?
The community-led Bond & Growth Planning Committee was approved and charged by the AISD School Board to develop a bond proposal by studying data related to student enrollment, district finances and facility needs by touring the campuses.
The BGPC met seven times over four months and developed a bond proposal that was unanimously approved by the Board. The 24-member committee was comprised of parents, staff and community members.

WHERE TO VOTE: Multiple Early Voting Locations Open Monday Across Argyle ISD
Early voting begins Monday, April 25 and there are several options across the district for Argyle ISD voters. This information card below provides all the locations, addresses and times for early voting and information related to election day voting.
HOW MUCH GROWTH? See Argyle ISD's Student Enrollment Projections
Argyle ISD is expected to double in enrollment in the next six years.
With this rapid rate of growth, the capacity at Argyle ISD's campuses becomes a focal point for planning. Based on studying the numbers and finances, the Bond & Growth Planning Committee determined two elementary campuses and one middle school were needed in this bond proposal. Please take a moment and review these enrollment projections which are produced by the district's demographers.

BALLOT LANGUAGE: What to expect on the ballot?
The Argyle ISD bond election ballot will include language that will state "this is a property tax increase." School bond propositions are required by state law to include this terminology.
However, the Argyle ISD bond does not include an overall tax rate increase if the bond passes due to the Maintenance & Operations tax rate compression which offsets the Interest & Sinking tax rate increase.

FUTURE HS STATUS: What is the plan?
The future of the high school configuration will be determined by the High School Advisory & Planning Committee due to the district's rapid growth and the need for future capacity at the high school level. The committee will be formed this spring and will conclude with a recommendation to the Argyle ISD School Board regarding the future high school configuration.
The BGPC did determine that Argyle Middle School (the former AHS) on Highway 377 will be designated as a future high school campus in a to-be-determined configuration starting in the 2025-2026 school year.
