Greetings MacArthur Families,
Happy Friday! Hope everyone was able to stay warm during this week's arctic blast! The cold was not ideal but we pushed through and worked to find movement throughout our days with the need for indoor recess most of the week due to the windchill in low teen and single digit temperatures. We definitely used our creativity to maximize the learning in our first full week of 2025!
This week at MacArthur: Our 5th graders traveled to the Museum of Science for the first field trip of the calendar year. Thank you to Ms. Boudreau and our 5th grade team for coordinating this special day full of fun and meaningful connections to what the students are learning the classroom. It was wonderful to hear from our team that the students were tremendous ambassadors of MacArthur School, and Waltham, while off campus.
Next Week: Our regularly scheduled programming returns with this month's School Council and PTO Meetings on Tuesday, January 14th. School Council will be at 3:45pm. Our PTO Meeting will take place virtually at 7pm. https://meet.google.com/mpo-cpxm-qgo This month, we will be presenting about the New IEP and 504 plans. Join us to learn more about these documents and how they are utilized to support students' needs. All are welcome!
Later this Month: Student Council is inviting all students and staff to dress up as famous duos or trios on Friday, January 24th. Stay tuned for more information about this special spirit day!
Sharing for one more week: We are excited to share that we are in the process of beinning a committee to develop a MacArthur School Mural. Through the generous donation from a MacArthur family, we are beginning this committee to identify an artist who will work as an "artist in residence" at MacArthur during an identified period of time in the future. Students, Staff, Faculty, and Families will have an opportunity to participate in the creation of this community project.
