LSHS student wins My District, My Minnesota art program

Lakeville South High School 11th grade student Myles Miller recently won the My District, My Minnesota art program for Senate District 38 with his photography piece titled Hiraeth. “Hiraeth” is a Welsh noun that roughly translates to, “a spiritual longing for a home which maybe never was.”


In the My District, My Minnesota art program, each senator chooses a submitted artwork they feel best represents their district. Miller’s photography will be on display at the Minnesota Senate Building through the remainder of the year.

  • Senior Posters Create a poster to celebrate your senior’s high school memories and achievements! We encourage poster with lots of photographs and other memorabilia. For details on creating, printing and turning in the poster ➟ LSHS Senior Poster Guide.
    • ⏰ Due by: Wednesday, June 5. Volunteers will hang posters beginning at 3:00 p.m. on June 5.

  • Senior Party - Join your classmates for one last blast at the Lakeville South Senior Party! There will be tons of fun and games, food, entertainment and PRIZES!! Thursday, June 6 - after your graduation ceremony - 10:30 p.m. – 3:30 a.m. at LSHS. Register here ASAP!!

Junior Class Officers for 2024-2025 School Year

Are you interested in being a Junior Class Officer for the 2024-2025 school year? In this position you would be a part of the committee that plans and prepares for the Homecoming Dance and Prom. We start planning this year for next year's homecoming. Meetings are Tuesday mornings at 7:15 a.m.

If accepted you will receive an email from Miss Kelly and be added to the Schoology group where we coordinate communication through. APPLICATION IS DUE BY FRIDAY, MAY 10. The first meeting will be on Tuesday, May 14 at 7:15 a.m. in Miss Kelly's Room (C203).

  • As of Thursday, May 2, Benilde-St. Margaret’s, ranked first for the fourth week in a row. They came to Cougar Stadium Thursday night to play our second-ranked Cougar girls' lacrosse team. The result??? Cougars: 15!! BSM: 5 Here are some stats from an amazing team win:

    • 5 goals against (congrats Kate and D-Crew), 5 goals against is also the team's season average over 5 games
    • 13 assists on 15 goals led by Fannin with 4 assists
    • 8 different goal scorers
    • 19 draw controls led by Tschida to O'Brien for 10 of those DC's
    • 9 ground balls led by Buesgens with 3

  • Want to join the Cougar Dance Team? Tryouts for our 2024-2025 winter competitive team are Monday, May 6 and Tuesday, May 7 from 4:00-6:00 p.m. Tryouts are open to all current 7th through 11th grade students attending LSHS or a LSHS feeding middle school.

    Pre-registration is required to attend tryouts: 2024-25 CDT Spring Audition Form. Be sure to read all of the information included on the form. Questions? Email head coach, Katie Ohlund at klohlund@gmail.com.
