Message from the Principal - Mrs. Reyes
Dear SABE families,
Welcome to September! As we move into the heart of the school year, our focus this month is on building a strong sense of community and fostering family engagement. We believe that when families, educators, and students work together, everyone succeeds, and we have several exciting events and opportunities lined up to bring us closer as a community.
We are thrilled to invite you to our ¡SOMOS SABE! Noche de familia on Thursday, September 19th starting at 5:30 p.m . This event is designed to celebrate and strengthen our school-family partnerships through meaningful conversations, activities, and learning opportunities. We hope you can join us as we explore ways to work together for the success of all our students.
In October, we’ll be hosting our October Fiesta on Thursday, October 17th. It will be a lively celebration that brings together our entire school community to enjoy fun games, food and fun! This is a fantastic opportunity to connect with other families and celebrate our school's vibrant culture. Candy donations for this event will start on October 1st.
Additionally, we invite all parents to join our SABE Family Council. This is a great way to get involved in decision-making, provide feedback, and help shape the future of our school. If you are interested please click on the link below and we will contact you with more information.
Thank you for your continued support and participation in our school community. Let’s make this a fantastic month of growth and connection!
Warm regards,

School Safety
At SABE, the safety and well-being of our students and staff are our top priorities. In light of recent concerns about school safety and threats that have been made on schools, we want to reassure you that we are fully committed to maintaining a secure and supportive learning environment.
We take any threats to our school seriously and have established comprehensive safety protocols to ensure that all potential risks are addressed swiftly and appropriately. Our staff regularly undergoes safety training, and we have strong partnerships with local law enforcement to respond quickly to any situations that may arise. We also conduct routine drills to prepare students and staff for emergencies, ensuring everyone knows how to act safely.
We encourage parents and students to report any suspicious activity or concerning behavior immediately. Open communication is key to keeping our community safe, and we urge families to talk with their children about the importance of sharing concerns with a trusted adult.
If you have any questions about our safety procedures or would like to discuss any concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us. We are committed to creating a safe environment where students can learn and thrive.
Thank you for your cooperation and support.

Principal Awards
We are excited to have started our scholar recognitions. There are three awards that students are able to earn.
Principal's Award: This award is granted to scholars that have been nominated by their teachers. The scholars that receive this award are recognized for reflecting our 3 personal standards of making good choices, showing respect and solving problems.
Perfect Attendance: Scholars that have perfect attendance (no absences. no late or leave early) for the month will receive recognition.
Dojo Point Winner: The scholar with the most Dojo points in the class will receive this recognition. Students receive Dojo points for demonstrating our 3 Personal Standards in addition to other positive behaviors that teachers have deemed important to contribute to our scholars' success.
SABE's 3 Personal Standards
SABE. follows the 3 personal standards of
- Making good decisions (choices)
- Showing respect
- Be a problem solver
As part of our Positive Behavior Support (PBS) program, students have had assemblies that address the 3 Personal Standards in different common areas in the school. During the PBS assemblies, staff members have been talking to the students about what the personal standards look like and sound like. Emphasizing the importance of personal responsibility.
Part of our PBS program, students are also able to receive a Positive Office Referral. The office referral is sent to the principal, Mrs. Reyes. Mrs.Reyes and the student call the parent or guardian to let them know of the Positive Office Referral and the student also receives a prize from Mrs. Reyes' treasure box. It's very exciting to see the smiling faces of the students and the joy of the parents over the phone.
The teachers have also been working with the students about the personal standards and classroom expectations. Below are some examples of the discussions that have taken place in the classrooms.
Mrs. Crain - Dojo Points for the Month
Mrs. Kubler - Hallway Expectations
Ms. Cruz Rodriguez - 3 Personal Standards for Middle School
School Attendance
Congratulations to 1st grade for having the highest attendance rate (95%) for the month of August! The class will be receiving a prize.
The teachers and staff want to emphasize the importance of school attendance. Below are some information on the importance of school attendance. Students lose out on instruction and may cause them to fall behind. Our overall student attendance rate for August was 87%. Our goal at SABE is to have an attendance rate of 95%. We know it's possible because our 1st grade class has shown us.
SABE School Supplies
At SABE students do not have a supply list. Families pay a supply fee ($100) which covers all the needed supplies for the year. The fee will be paid in two $50 installments (September and January).
Returning families are able to go to www.mymealtime.com to make the first payment. New families will be contacted due to some technical difficulties we are experiencing while trying to add new students to the system.

Student Safety during Drop-Off and Pick-Up
Thank you to everyone that is helping us keep our students and staff members safe during drop-off in the morning and pick-up in the afternoon.
Unfortunately, we are noticing that there are parents/guardians that are not following the indications of the staff members and making it unsafe for both students and staff.
- We ask that when entering the parking lot do not speed or cut off cars. This poses a danger and can result in harming people and/or cars.
- The 3 Personal Standards that we teach the students also apply to the adults, staff members and parents/guardians. Our students are learning from us so please be respectful when addressing the staff members. Our staff members will also show the same respect.
Thank you for your support.
