Dear Parents & Carers,
It has been a busy week at Carleton Park, everyone has worked extremely hard, and I am proud of the efforts and determination demonstrated by the pupils in all our year groups.
Our Reception children received their letters from their pen pals at The Rookeries yesterday, and today they all enjoyed reading them out in class. There were many giggles and laughter in the classroom looking at the drawings they have been sent and learning all about their pal's favourite things . Next Friday they will get to meet them in person down at The Rookeries!
The residential at Boggle Hole this week, was such an important experience for our Year 4 children. For most of the children it's the first time away from family and the way they dealt with this was truly commendable. Situated right on the beach it was an ideal base for exploring sandy coves with rock pools full of marine biodiversity and it was wonderful to be able to join the class and witness their learning first hand. The last challenge for the children before setting off home was to walk from the hostel round to Robin Hood's Bay, learning about the routes used by smugglers, and the history of the village before enjoying an ice-cream. I'm sure they will all have made memories to last a lifetime.
Have a lovely bank holiday weekend, school is open on Tuesday 7th May for all of our pupils.
Best Regards,
Mr Ayre
