Bike to School Day- May 8
We invite families to join us for Bike to School Day on Wednesday, May 8. This is a great way to promote healthy habits through exercise, a cleaner environment, and safe streets by reducing traffic. Plus, it is fun! Students should ride with adults and wear an appropriate bike helmet. Parents should guide students safely through the streets modeling appropriate bike safety behaviors. Bicycles can be locked at the rack on the Luckett Street side of the building or the bike rack on the Lynch Street side of the building.
Dragon Dash- May 10
Sponsored by Beall PTA
This year’s Fun Run has been scheduled for Friday, May 10. All students will have the opportunity to participate in this exciting event. Parents are invited to volunteer or simply cheer our students on as they enjoy their run. We encourage you to make lots of noise as students and staff run, walk, hop, or even jump around the course.
Tentative Schedule:
- 2:00-2:30 Grades 5 and 2
- 2:10-2:40 Grades 4 and 1
- 2:20-2:50 Grades 3 and Kdg
- Students will exit the main doors and run laps around the building.
- Parents are invited to cheer from anywhere on the course. Please do not bring any pets.
- Parents should not plan on entering the building following the event. Staff will need the time to help students prepare for dismissal.

Grandparents/Special Guest Day- May 24
On Friday, May 24, we invite Grandparents or another special adult guest, to join our students for the morning. Grandparents and special guests will have the opportunity to visit classrooms and share a special moment with our students. In the next couple of weeks, a registration link will be shared. In an effort to maintain a safe environment, guests will need to pre-register for this event. This event is intended for a special guest who students may not get to interact with on a daily basis. While we understand that many students may not be able to welcome a grandparent or special guest, we appreciate parents respecting the intent of this event and understanding that we cannot accommodate the additional visitors on this day. Previously, our wonderful guests have always been inclusive by inviting all students to join them during classroom activities, stories, or interactive opportunities. The event will be scheduled from 9:30 am through 11:00 am.
Please look for a sign-up link later this month.
Teacher Assignments for the 2024-25 School Year
Input due by June 3
Although there are still more than 5 weeks remaining in the school year, the staff at Beall have begun working on plans for next year. During the last month of school, in addition to continuing to teach the curriculum and build on our successes, we are busy ordering supplies and equipment, staffing positions, and developing tentative class groupings. The class groupings are developed over the next couple of weeks and are tweaked during the summer, based on changes in student enrollment and teacher assignments. Our goal is to create balanced, heterogeneous classes in which children and teachers can be happy and productive and facilitate the best opportunities for learning. We seek to create a balance in terms of gender, level of academic achievement, racial/ethnic groups, leaders and followers, learning rates, work/study skills, behavioral support, and special needs. We attempt to develop classes where students have positive affects on each other and student strengths are matched to a teacher’s strengths and style. While the final decision on class assignments will be made by school personnel, we would like to offer you the opportunity to have input on your child’s assigned teacher for the upcoming year. We invite you to share thoughts about your child’s strengths and weaknesses, identify the type of learning climate that you feel is best for your child, and indicate if there are other factors that we should consider when assigning your child to a particular class. Specific teacher requests will not be considered. Written input must be received before June 3. Information can be sent to your child’s teacher or to office staff. Information will be shared with staff to make placements. You may also submit information by clicking here to use our Parent Input Form.
