Last week, various Leyden clubs decorated trees and put them on display in the cafeteria. Click HERE to vote for your favorite decorated tree. Voting ends tomorrow at 1:30pm. The winning club will receive a special treat from Student Activities.

In addition to decorating trees, the clubs built gingerbread houses and decorated cookies while sipping hot chocolate and eating cookies. Check out the pics from the "Jingle & Mingle" event below!

HOSA Club will be selling Candy Cane Grams this week during all lunch periods. For 50 cents, you can send a mini candy cane and a personal note to a friend or teacher. Purchase as many Candy Cane Grams as you want! HOSA club members will then deliver your gram during Eagle Time the week of December 16th. All you have to do is provide the recipient's name and the name of their Advisory teacher.

Mrs. Giuseffi is looking for students who are interested in helping out during their lunch period at different Student Activities events in the cafeteria & mezzanine. These events take place about once a month. You would be asked to help students at the events, take pictures, organize, etc.

Celebrate the end of the semester by participating in Student Council's Spirit Week beginning Monday, December 16th and ending Friday, December 20th...the last day of the semester!!

On Saturday, November 23rd, Leyden's Esports Rocket League Team WON the IHSEA (Illinois High School E-Sports Association) State Tournament. The IHSEA is an online E-Sports league with over 100 member schools throughout Illinois. The team includes East Junior Isaac Merino, East Freshman Ian Giron, West Senior Rodrigo Diaz, & West Senior Jonathan Rosas.

The team traveled to NIU and competed against 16 other schools. Going into the tournament, Leyden was ranked #2 in the 3A division. They managed to win 6 games in a row in the final round against the undefeated #1 ranked team.

After their impressive wins, the Leyden team was chosen to represent the IHSEA at a Midwestern Regional tournament in May against State Champion schools from states around the Midwest. This event is hosted and attended by college coaches in the area. All four players have a great chance of earning scholarship money to play Rocket League competitively in college. Tickets are still available for this year's Yuletide Celebration taking place this Friday & Saturday. Purchase your tickets HERE and then enjoy a night of music, food and a special drone show. Tickets are only $20.
