Hi Comets!

Thank you to everyone who attended our first membership meeting during Back To School Night! We know that a lot of information is shared during a very short amount of time at these meetings and appreciate your attendance and support. If you have not yet joined the PTA, please find the link in the membership section below and join for just $8 per person. Canyon Creek neighbors, grandparents and other friends of CCE are also encouraged to join PTA to support our school, so please spread the word for us!

As you know, PTA is a group of volunteer parents who love our school and want it to be the very best place for our students, staff and community. We are specifically in need of a few new volunteers to join us and lead some of our most favorite programs….(click on each to find out more)

These program lead positions are limited in scope, require only a small time investment, and will be supported by the PTA board as you learn the ropes. Without a lead for each of these programs, it is very unlikely that PTA will be able to offer them to our CCE community this calendar year. Please email canyoncreekelementarypta@gmail.com if you’re able to lead one of these and thank you for your consideration.

We look forward to seeing everyone at our upcoming fall events in the upcoming weeks. We know there can be a lot to keep track of, and the PTA email newsletter is the main way we communicate ALL the details for what you need to know, so please read all the way through. We will continue to post on Facebook as well.

Thanks so much to everyone who joined us for “the most important meal of the day” last Friday at our very first Cereal Bar. We hope you enjoyed connecting with other families while filling your tummies with some yummy breakfast.

The 2024-2025 PTA Spirit Shirts are still for sale while supplies last, but some sizes are already sold out. If you still don't have your shirt yet, check the website to see if your size is still available and grab it today! Spirit Shirts ordered online will come home in backpacks from your student’s teacher after our regularly scheduled sorting days. Students should wear their Spirit Shirts every Friday to school, to off-campus field trips and anytime they want to show their Comet Spirit!

Have you seen our “Home of a CCE Comet” yard signs around the neighborhood and wished you had one? Show your Comet Spirit with a CCE Yard Sign! We only have a few signs left available for purchase.

Once purchased, we will reach out to you to schedule a time for you to pick up your yard sign or you can reach out to our Spiritwear Chair, Agustina Rios to schedule, agustinariosg@gmail.com. We are not able to safely send the signs home with students because of the pointed stake that comes with the sign.

To volunteer at Canyon Creek Elementary in any capacity, you must first fill out a volunteer application with the school district. This includes volunteering with PTA, chaperoning field trips, helping in the classroom or working with students. A new application must be submitted each year for the current school year and can take up to a week to be fully approved.

There are many ways to volunteer in the library, from general library help (shelving books, helping students, check outs, etc.), to special projects (events, author visits, inventory, seasonal displays, etc.) to Book Fairs.
