Message from the Superintendent
Community engagement is a dynamic, relational process that facilitates communication between an organization and a community. In LOSD, we value community engagement and are committed to continuously developing how we engage with stakeholders as experiences and perspectives evolve.
This week we had three opportunities for community engagement. On Monday evening, LOSD in partnership with the City of Lake Oswego, hosted our second user group input session for the recreation aquatic center proposal. We invited stakeholders in the aquatics community to testify to the needs of their respectives pool users. We have developed a pool Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) as an overview of the topics discussed. On Tuesday we hosted an information session to talk about the restroom designs at Lakeridge Middle School. We have developed an FAQ that addresses restroom topics discussed. On Wednesday, we hosted an Open House for members of the Elementary Boundary Review Committee to share thinking that’s gone into the boundary map proposals, answer questions and solicit feedback that will inform the next iteration of the boundary map drafts. We also have an FAQ to help inform the boundary review process.
If you are reading this message, then you know that The Current is one of the best ways to stay informed of upcoming community engagement opportunities. Thank you for attending sessions and for your thoughtful participation in community engagement.
