Elementary and middle school attendance boundaries approved for 2025-2026
After receiving hundreds of online comments and over 100 people in attendance at an in person meeting, the Board approved the 2025-2026 attendance boundaries for new schools Moseley Middle School, Smothermon Elementary School and Thomson Elementary School.
CELEBRATIONS
JEA Medal of Merit Award - Lisa Roskens
The Journalism Education Association (JEA) awards Medals of Merit to members who make outstanding contributions to scholastic journalism. This year, Mrs. Roskens was honored as one of just four recipients nationwide. As the adviser of Prosper High School's award-winning Eagle Nation Online and the JEA Texas State Director, she continues to leave a remarkable impact on student journalism.
AP School Honor Roll - Rock Hill High School
Rock Hill High School, under the leadership of Mr. Terry Mouton, has been named a 2024 AP School Honor Roll recipient, celebrating its dedication to expanding AP course access and supporting student success. The school also earned the prestigious AP Access Award, recognizing its efforts to increase participation among low-income and underrepresented minority students. With a proportionate or higher percentage of these students taking at least one AP Exam before graduation, Rock Hill High demonstrates a strong commitment to equitable access and academic excellence.
Thompson Principal Academy - Stephanie Romero
Now in its 26th year, the Thompson Principal Academy offers advanced leadership development for campus principals, helping them elevate their leadership skills and proficiency. Admission to this prestigious program is highly competitive, with a select group of around 25 participants. Prosper ISD is proud to have two principals chosen for this elite academy. We are honored to recognize Stephanie Romero, principal of Hall Elementary School, for earning a place in the Thompson Principal Academy.
TASA/TASB Award Stars of Distinction of School Architects Projects - Huckabee
The TASA/TASB Exhibit of School Architecture, in partnership with the Association for Learning Environments - Southern Region Foundation, highlights excellence in the planning and design of Texas schools. This juried showcase celebrates innovative new and renovated learning environments, awarding Stars of Distinction for Excellence in design, value, wellness, community, planning, and transformation. Huckabee earned recognition for Walnut Grove High School, receiving Stars of Distinction in design, wellness, and transformation.
PEF Gala Check Presentation
On November 2, PEF hosted its inaugural gala, Step Up For PEF, to support the students and staff of Prosper ISD. The event was a resounding success, raising over $100,000. Dr. Carrie Thomas, Executive Director of PEF, presented a check to Prosper ISD.
Top Workplaces Award
Prosper ISD has been named a 2024 Top Workplaces Industry winner, a distinction that highlights organizations fostering exceptional, people-first workplace cultures. With a 17-year history, the Top Workplaces program recognizes employers nationally and across 60 regional markets, marking Prosper ISD as a leader and employer of choice within its sector. We are proud to invite John Schumacher, Director of Elementary Student Services, whose efforts in conducting the employee survey were instrumental in achieving this honor, to accept the award on behalf of Prosper ISD.
Life Saving Award
Prosper ISD staff members and the Frisco Fire Department displayed remarkable professionalism and quick thinking when a staff member collapsed during a morning workout. Acting without hesitation, they performed CPR and provided critical care to stabilize the staff member until medical professionals arrived. Their swift and decisive actions were instrumental in saving a life, exemplifying their unwavering commitment to excellence and the safety of their team.
Prosper ISD receives an A rating in financial accountability
The district conducted a public hearing for the state's school financial accountability rating system, known as the School Financial Integrity Rating System of Texas (FIRST).
Chief Financial Officer Michele Seese reported that Prosper ISD received a Superior or A Rating for the 2022-2023 school year. The financial goal for the district is to achieve quality performance in the management of school district’s financial resources
This system ensures that Texas public schools are held accountable for the quality of their financial management practices and that they improve these practices. The system is designed to encourage Texas public schools to better manage their financial resources to provide the maximum allocation possible for direct instructional purposes.

PROCESS FOR SPEAKING AT BOARD MEETINGS
The Prosper ISD Board of Trustees welcomes public comment at Board meetings. In order to provide an efficient process at the Board meetings, we ask that individuals complete the Public Comment Form and submit it no later than noon on the day of the meeting. The Notice of Meeting/Agenda is posted 72 hours in advance of the Board meeting.
