CHICAGO, IL — In celebration of National Women’s Month, Proviso West Advanced Manufacturing teacher Ms. April Senase, in collaboration with the Dream Academy, provided five young women with the opportunity to participate in the ComEd Women in Construction event.

Students Alexia Rodela, a senior; Jennifer Lopez, a junior; Jalyssa Pierson, a junior; Destiny Rosario, a sophomore; and Nancy Sandoval, a senior, engaged in hands-on STEM activities throughout the day. They gained valuable insights into careers in construction and engineering.

A highlight of the event was each student building her own robot, fostering creativity, technical skills, and teamwork.

This empowering experience not only celebrated women in skilled trades but also encouraged the next generation of female leaders in manufacturing and construction.
