Major's Minute
We're already in the month of May! Wow, so much has been going on! This newsletter is filled with video and information on what has been happening and what is to come! The background of this newsletter captures the feeling that God is always working, putting pieces together for his glory.
First, the first Wednesday of May in The Salvation Army world, usually comes with a little apprehension as officers receive news on if they are staying in their current assignment or are being moved to another Salvation Army placement. We are now able to take a deep breath and officially say, "Thank you Lord for letting us stay in Santa Clara for another year!" Prayerfully more years! We feel like we've only scratched the service in this year and a half and are happy to continue growing with you. The list of Western Salvation Army Officer moves is included here for you to see.

Support Brynne Begonia for Missions
Dear Family and Friends,
I have exciting news to share! I have this grand opportunity to be a part of the Service Corps Mission Team this summer for The Salvation Army. I was one out of twelve young adults selected for this ministry opportunity out of all of the applicants. I will be representing my home church, The Salvation Army Santa Clara church, and the entire Western Territory.
On this Mission trip, our team will be serving those in need in the Southwest region of The Salvation Army (Arizona, New Mexico, etc) by doing various service projects in the community, youth and adult ministries on reservations, leading special programs like Vacation Bible School and worship services, and most importantly sharing the Gospel and pointing people to Jesus in creative ways. Our hope this summer is to simply serve where needed and to share the love of God. I am looking forward to leading devotions, sharing my musical gifts, and giving my personal testimony this summer.
Each team member is required to raise a minimum of $1,500 of support prior to going on missions. Any additional funds raised can go towards personal expenses for the summer or my educational grant at the end of the summer.
I am hoping you will pray over me this summer as I go on my first mission trip. Please also consider giving towards my goal. If you are considering funding my mission, you may send any donations on or before June 5th; in check to Brynne Begonia and write SERVICE CORPS in the memo.
