School District of Howards Grove

Good Afternoon Parents & Guardians-

Welcome to the final newsletter for the 2024-2025 School Year! It has been another fast year, with so much going on with our building projects. Please note- this summer there will be extensive construction happening in the district. In addition to all the finishing work at the new middle school, the following projects will be underway:

• Northview will be closed for the summer, with office staff working out of the current middle school. All classrooms are getting new windows and new flooring. There will be several bathroom remodels and a ton of HVAC work, resulting in central air at Northview this coming year. For anyone that needs to contact the Northview office, please continue to use the Northview number and it will be answered, despite being off site.
• The high school music wing will be closed due to heavy construction resulting in new windows, a new general music classroom, and band storage.
• The high school locker rooms will be closed getting new floors, lockers, ceilings, and a fresh coat of paint. The weight room will also have limited availability.
• The high school gym is being completely renovated with refinished floors, lights, sound system, bleachers, and a fresh look with new paint. New LED lights have already been installed, which is a nice energy savings and a brighter look.
• The high school front entrance will finally get the canopy over the top of the new entrance.
• The district office will also be closed this summer due to renovations for a new special education suite for middle and high school students and staff.

Despite the closures around the district causing some of us to be relocated, all phones and emails will still be active and monitored like usual. While our teaching staff leaves for the summer, the year round employees will still be accessible for students and parents, as needed using our regular phone numbers and extensions.

Have a wonderful summer and stay tuned for information regarding a formal open house and ribbon cutting ceremony for our brand new middle school opening in August of 2025.

Here are the latest updates on our construction project, along with another video. Thanks for taking the time to check out the latest video. As previously mentioned, there is no WiFi in the new middle school yet, so I bluetooth off my phone hotspot, and it does glitch a few times.
