Happy Friday Cougar Families!


Fall sports are now in full swing and last night our girls flag football team dominated Ramona in their first ever contest. It is exciting to add new opportunities for our students to connect to the school and compete in education based athletics. Congrats to Coach Givens and the girls for a great start to the season.


I hope everyone is excited for our first assembly of the year next Friday. Our ASB has expanded to offer a leadership class and their contributions will add a new dimension to our efforts to connect each student to the school.


Thank you for making Steele Canyon a great place to learn and work!

SCHS Governing Board REGULAR Elections - 2024

Steele Canyon High School will be conducting the REGULAR Election for Community (2 positions) and Certificated staff (1 position) governing board member positions in August/September 2024, beginning August 12th. Please see the attached information for election details and deadlines. Questions about the requirements, commitment, or responsibilities of being a SCHS Board Member can be directed to any of the current Board Members (contact information is located on the SCHS website) or Scott Parr, CEO Principal.

The election committee is looking for adult volunteers to assist the board secretary with preparing ballots, and the counting of the ballots (various dates). To volunteer contact Monsarret Genis at Mgenis@schscougars.org or call 619-660-3512.

Last day to receive Declaration of Candidacy to the school office is by 3:30 p.m. on Aug 30, 2024

Parent/Guardian Action Required - New and Returning Student Data Confirmation Form

The yearly New and Returning Data Confirmation Form is now ready for you to fill out in Aeries Parent Portal. This form allows you to verify information related to you and your student, including phone numbers, emergency contact information, medical needs, and addresses. For more information, please refer to an email that was sent out Monday night at 5:00 PM titled "2024-25 New and Returning Yearly Student Data Confirmation Form".

Youth Night for Cheer

Youth Night for Cheer is back! Registration opens August 23rd. This is an opportunity for your K-8th grade student to come cheer for 2 quarters at a real SCHS Varsity Football game! The game is Friday September 13th at 7:00pm. Check our Sideline Cheer tab under Athletics or the Steele Canyon HS Cheer Instagram page for the link!

Competition Cheer Tryouts

Competition Cheer Tryouts are Saturday September 7th at 9:00am in the mezzanine!

All athletes MUST be cleared through the finance office in order to participate!
