Intruder Audit
Please make sure to reference the email sent about the Intruder Audit. We do a great job on our campus of keeping doors locked and a watchful eye but lets make sure we are all prepared for this upcoming audit.
THIS FRIDAY - PLEASE READ!
Furniture Update - I'm apologizing in advance!
Our final delivery of furniture is happening this Friday. This will include our band instrument storage, a nursing station for Nurse Bryant, some wrapping up of our storage shelving units and the completion of our modular rolling shelves in each room.
I'd asked you earlier in the year to leave the bottom sections of those shelves empty because they were going to be replacing those (wrong units were delivered from company). The company has since then discontinued this unit and is now requiring that we replace the entire unit with a new one, with the larger bins on bottom. To say I am annoyed is an understatement. Please see the plan below.
Delivery of new units will happen at 9am on Friday morning. They will assemble these units and roll them into each pod. I have asked that YOU get to move your stuff to the new unit and wheel the old one out into the pod rather than the installers coming into each room to complete this task. You'll have the day to make this transition. I'll just ask that it be done before you leave on Friday.
They will collect the old units and repackage them to be sent back to the company. I'm extremely sorry about having to ask you to do this and frustrated about this mistake that was out of our control.
Band and nurse installation will happen throughout the morning. Performance Arts and Band will need to relocate during this time. I will touch base with you tomorrow.
Town Hall
The second and final Town Hall to discuss the upcoming Bond Election will be held at the Intermediate on Sunday October 15.
Lots of information will be shared about the Bond Election, proposed projects, previous projects and plans moving forward. Board members will be present and will be giving 'tours' after the meeting. This will be an Open House for our community to see the Intermediate.
You are not expected to attend, however, I would encourage you to be there if you have any questions regarding the upcoming Bond Election.
*Public will not have access to the entire building, classrooms will remain locked.
Farewells and Welcomes
We also had some changes with our cafeteria staff. Michele Deshesky is no longer with us. We appreciate her hard work in getting us up and going in the cafeteria and wish her the best of luck in her next endeavors.
I'd like to welcome Rachael Malo to our team. She is transitioning from a part time role to a full time position as our new Cafeteria Manager. If you haven't already, stop by to say hi and introduce yourself!
Also starting on our campus this week is Rod Anderson, our new custodian! I think we can all say that we are overly excited to be welcoming Rod in this position to the Intermediate!
Brunch Bunch and WOW Committee
A big THANK YOU to our WOW Committee for getting our luncheon schedule going and planning some staff pick me ups coming your way. Grateful for y'all pouring into our staff! Brunch Bunch teams and rotations are linked in staff handbook.
Multipurpose Room and Science Lab Sign Ups
If you didn't have a chance to see Mrs. Fuller's Book Tasting in action - it was awesome! Heard kids talking about it days later. Love seeing our spaces used around the building and kids soaking up all of the learning!
Just a reminder to utilize the sign up sheets for booking the Multipurpose Room and Science Lab. We've been doing a great job of this so far.
*Please be conscience that Band does use the Multipurpose Room during 4th and 5th period but can adjust when this room is needed. You might shoot Parker an email if you'll need this room during this time.
*these are also both linked in our staff handbook
Campus Goals
Thank you for the responses for input towards our Campus Goals. It helped me see where we are at as a campus and what we see as important moving forward (Exit Tickets were overwhelmingly NOT this 🤣)
Based on input from staff here is what our campus goals will be for the 2023-2024 year
1. Teachers will greet students when entering their classroom and have their daily objective/agenda posted
2. We will recognize students throughout the year. We will utilize several outlets to recognize students including our monthly character traits, celebrating growth in areas such as AR and progress monitoring, attendance and being outstanding Jim Ned Indians!
BOY Meetings and Walk Throughs/Observations
I LOVED getting to have our BOY meetings with our certified staff. It was great to sit down one on one and see how life was going. There are a few stragglers I plan on sending invites to soon. I will also start setting up times to meet with our support staff to check in.
Walkthroughs will officially start this week and I will start reaching out to set up formal observations.
Staff and Leadership Team Meeting
We will plan to have a staff meeting on our Staff Development day on October 30th.
Leadership Team - I am looking at ways to not keep us here until the sun goes down or here before the sun comes up. Stay tuned for a meeting date and time!
Reminder that October 30th is a Professional Development Day.
Fundraiser
Our Fundraiser is going strong! Keep encouraging student's to get registered online and sell, sell, sell!
I will be putting some prizes in homeroom teacher boxes as coupons come in. Golden Ticket prizes end this Wednesday. Fundraiser ends 10/11.
