Welcome new Woods Creek staff members!

District 47 has contracted with Color Portraits to take student pictures this year. All picture orders must be placed online through Color Portraits via the information linked here. This is a Color Portraits, Inc. prepay site and ordering will be closed at midnight the day of Picture Day to process the orders. If parents missed prepaying they will have a chance to order pictures with their child's Ticket Code. When placing an order after Picture Day with a Ticket Code a shipping fee will be added on and picture packages will be shipped directly to the home. Ticket Codes will be delivered with the bulk picture package order approximately three weeks post Picture Day.

• If your child is absent on September 5, our picture retake day will be October 11.

Woods Creek will host a Parent Night on September 12 for parents to learn more about your student's classroom and to meet the teacher. This is an evening for parents only. Session times are 6:00-6:45 p.m and 7:00-7:45 p.m. Please attend one session per Woods Creek student.

We are using the Bridges in Mathematics program this school year in grades K-5. This is a new curriculum program for our students and teachers. Teachers will share more about the program at Parent Night and throughout the school year. It is an inquiry-based and student-centered program that focuses on developing mathematical reasoning while creating an inclusive and equitable learning community for all students. Staff and students are encouraged to show school spirit every Friday! Wear red, royal blue or Woods Creek spirit wear every Friday. Go Woods Creek Cubs!

• Parents are required to log all student absences in ParentVue by 8:00 a.m. on the day of the absence.
• Please view additional absence information in the Student Handbook, located on the District 47 website.

Our 4th and 5th graders who choose to audition for Dot & The Kangaroo, Jr. the Musical have access to this folder of musical resources to assist with audition preparation.

Due to D47 policy, the school and teachers are unable to provide classmate contact information to other families. Therefore, the Woods Creek PTO is putting together a student directory for those parents interested in participating. The Woods Creek PTO Directory provides an opportunity for families to communicate with each other. If you would like to participate in this *voluntary* directory, please complete the PTO Student Directory Form by Friday, September 13.
