Welcome to all our students and families! I’m excited to have everyone back in school!

Health reminders:

Please keep your children home if they are experiencing a fever or vomiting. They can return to school once they have been fever-free for 24 hours without the use of fever-reducing medications such as acetaminophen or Ibuprofen. Students with minor symptoms of illness (runny nose, congestion, headache, etc.) may attend school if they are feeling well enough to do so. Please reach out to me if you have any questions regarding illnesses or appropriateness of attending school

As you think about gearing up for week two, here is a helpful checklist from our friends at Attendance Matters that might help set your student up for success.

WHAT YOU CAN DO

• Set a regular bedtime and morning routine.

• Lay out clothes and pack backpacks the night before.

• Develop backup plans for getting to school if something comes up. Call on a family member, a neighbor or another parent.

• Try to schedule medical appointments and extended trips when school isn't in session.

• If your child seems anxious about going to school, talk to teachers, school counselors and other parents for advice on how to make your child feel comfortable and excited about learning.

• If you are concerned that your child may have Covid-19, call our school nurse (Mrs. Marier) for advice.

• If your child must stay home due to illness, ask the teacher for resources so they don't get behind.

Please be aware that our PE program is an 'outdoor education' model and nearly every day our students will be outside. All students should be encouraged to dress accordingly so they are prepared.

We have a slight change in our communication of community events. We'll embed a link to our website in each newsletter where you can access offerings outside of school. This ranges from community events to clubs like Girl Scouts and Boys Scouts.
