Studies show that active trips to school enable children to incorporate the regular physical activity they need each day while also forming healthy habits that can last a lifetime. Regular physical activity helps children build strong bones, muscles and joints, and it decreases the risk of obesity. In contrast, insufficient physical activity can contribute to chronic diseases, such as diabetes, heart disease, cancer and stroke. The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services recommends that children and adolescents get one hour or more of physical activity each day. Research suggests that physically active kids are more likely to become healthy, physically active adults, underscoring the importance of developing the habit of regular physical activity early.

Our Lost and Found is in desperate need of hangars and help!

We need donations of adult sized, plastic tube hangars. If you have extras at home, we would love them. You can also save a step and purchase them from Amazon and have them shipped directly to the school. Thank you in advance!

Lost and Found will also be moving to the back of the building, still outside, still protected and still accessible outside of school hours. If you are available to come and help move and organize Lost and Found next week please contact Megan Wilson, megan.wilson@gcpsk12.org.

Our Spring Picture Day is Tuesday, March 14th. Individual student pictures are only taken if pre-ordered. You may pre-order from www.bpiphotography.net or use the paper form that was sent home. If you need a new form, we have additional forms in the office. Keep in mind the online choice closes at 4pm on 3/12 so there is time for the photography company to process before picture day. We encourage you to order online as it is easier to pay and track.

Class (group) pictures will be taken on Tuesday, 3/14. You may order a class picture for a keepsake!

Saturday, MAR 18, 5-8 PM in The Commons: 25 local restaurants, Brookwood Jazz Bands, silent auction, and a party atmosphere. Tickets $15 at GoFan, $20 at the door.

Gwinnett County Public Schools will host a Spring Career Fair on Saturday, March 4, 2023, at Gas South Convention Center from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. We are hiring all staff, including teachers, paraprofessionals, custodians, school nutrition workers, substitute teachers, bus drivers, and others, for the 2023-24 school year.

While you're there, please confirm that your mobile number and your email address are correct. If you don't have a Parent Portal account, stop by the school with your ID to complete a form.

March 17 is a scheduled Digital Learning Day (DLD) for all students. To ensure that students have a nutritious breakfast and lunch to fuel their learning, our bus drivers will be on the road and at every bus stop to deliver meals prepared by the School Nutrition Program staff. Schools can inform families to expect buses to run their routes from approximately 10:45 a.m. to noon, beginning at the first stops on the route on March 17. These delivered meals are provided at no cost to families and are provided to anyone 18 years old and under.
