NMSHS PANTHER POST
May 24, 2024
PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE - Mr. Goodrich
Dear Nederland Middle-Senior HS Families,
The school was quiet this morning. We had our traditional final staff breakfast this morning and teachers finished up their grades and cleaned up their classrooms.
We also said goodbye to several staff members who will not be returning next school year. Alana Bremers, who really stepped up and helped us out in the math department will not be returning. Matt Bristol, one of our Special Education teachers, is heading down the hill to Halcyon. Long-time PE/Outdoor Ed and Art teacher, Theresa Redmon, is headed to Southern Hills Middle School to teach Art. And, after 21 years of working in the office at Ned, Joanne Cash is retiring. We wish these excellent staff members the best of luck.
We have a new math teacher joining the Ned staff in August, Emma Snively who will be teaching Geometry and 7th grade math. Emma has both high school and middle school experience, most recently at Coal Creek Canyon K-8.
Summer Hours
The office staff will be in the school Tuesday May 28 through June 5th. The school’s office is open from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday (we are off on Monday, Memorial Day).
Administrators will be in and out of the office until Thursday, June 20th (please email for any needs) gavan.goodrich@bvsd.org. Gavan and Sean will be back on July 22nd.
Enjoy your summer,
Gavan

PANTHER PARENTS PTA
Thank you for a great year! We doubled our membership and had great participation at all our events (like Harvest Feast, Homecoming and Teacher Appreciation).
We want to send a huge THANK YOU to Nancy Bodnar for serving as PTA secretary for the last 2 years. She kept us organized by ensuring our membership and records were up to date, and took clear, extensive minutes at all our meetings. And to Ellen O’Rourke for serving as our PTA Treasurer for the past 2 years. She took great care to make sure our finances stayed accurate, and handled all the behind-the-scenes activities like taxes, audits and insurance. And welcome to our new secretary, Stacie Bieber and treasurer, Kam Troy. We could not run an effective non-profit PTA without the efforts of all our board members!
After discussing scheduling with school administrators, we decided that Thursdays offered the fewest scheduling conflicts with other school activities so we are going to move our PTA meetings to the first Thursday of each month. Meetings will be back to in-person. You will find up-to-date PTA information on our website at https://neh.bvsd.org/school-life/panther-parents-pta
We have some fun things planned for next school year and are looking forward to working with all of our Panther families — see you at Back to School Night on August 19!
