Dear Parents and Students,
We are thrilled to start this new school year with you. We are deeply thankful and proud to serve our families as we embark on this journey together. School begins on Monday, August 12th, and we’ll be ready to greet our students at 8:00 a.m.
This year, we are Leveling Up for high academic achievement, and we look forward to partnering with you to support our students’ success.
Here’s to an amazing year ahead!
Warm regards,
If you did not get an opportunity to attend our parent meetings and pick up your child's schedule, we will give them their schedule information once they arrive on campus Monday.
Additional information for the school year...
- 1st day of School: The first day of school is Monday, August 12, 2024. Please ensure your child is at school on day 1, to ensure a successful start to the school year.
ARRIVAL:
- 6th and 7th graders will enter the building through the auditorium entrances; and 8th graders will enter the door near the breezeway.
- Due to safety, the parking lots will be closed to student drop-off/pick ups. Please drop students off in the front of the school (Exception: Parents of students in Specialized classes will be allowed to drive into the parking lot to drop of their child. Parents will receive a card to place in your window, Monday).
- Our doors open at 8:00 a.m. for breakfast. Teachers will pick up their classes from the morning arrival location at 8:20 a.m. so that classes begin promptly at 8:35 a.m. Students should arrive to school no later than 8:25 a.m. to ensure they are in their seats, ready to learn. If students arrive at 8:35, they are late.
- Enrollment assistance will be based on appointments. Please be sure to call the main office or stop by for an appointment time. Visitors/ families will be able to get assistance beginning at 8:45 a.m. -after our students have settled into their classes.)
- We will do a staggered dismissal, meaning students will be released by sections based on their location in the building. Our 6th graders will be released first, next 8th grade, and 7th grade last. All students will be released by 3:55 p.m., which is the ending time for school.
- I ask for your patience during dismissal, especially the first week of school. Please be sure to let your child know where you will park so they can meet you. If your child is a walker, remind them to walk on the sidewalk and go straight home after-dismissal.
- Encourage your child (ren) to use the crosswalk. Please do not drop them off in the middle of the street.
- Follow the posted speed limit within all school zones so we ensure the safety of ALL our children. Remember, Ravinia Drive has 3 schools within a few miles of each other.
We are here to assist ALL of our families to ensure a successful school year. Please contact us at 972-794-5700 if you have any questions/ or concerns.
Respectfully,
Ms. Hudson, Principal
