Catching Kindness
This time of the school year always seems to go at warp speed as we find ourselves approaching the exciting, yet often busy holiday season. Amid the hustle and bustle, it's important to find time to pause and appreciate some of the simple moments of connection that bring us joy. Here at EES, we continue on with our Kindness Challenge, where we are taking the time to recognize the kind acts that students and staff are doing throughout the school days. Watching this turkey's feathers "grow" over the past week with new instances of kindness has definitely been bringing me joy!
Please complete and return the dismissal slip if you have not already!!
Coming Soon: Pick Up Patrol
Starting after Thanksgiving break, EES will be implementing a system called "Pick Up Patrol" to help us track dismissals. This will allow guardians to change their child's dismissal plans electronically from their phone or computer-- No more notes or phone calls necessary! Please be on the lookout for an email early next week with additional information.
SPIRIT WEEK
Whether it's dressing in one color, sporting some crazy hair, or showing our MERSD pride--- it's clear our students and staff are full of spirit!
Author Visit: Hena Khan
Apple Hill Quartet Performs for 4th Graders
Our fourth graders had a special visit by Apple Hill Quartet this morning, introducing the beauty of classical music in a lively, interactive concert! What a lovely way to start the day!
Fall Clubs Come to a Close
Our fall session of afterschool clubs is finishing up. Thank you to those that ran our clubs: Run Club, Taylor Swift Club, Board Games, STEM Club, Arts & Crafts---- our students had a blast!
We will be starting a new session of clubs in the new year. Sign-up opportunities will be coming!
We are always looking for community members who are willing to run a club. If interested, please reach out to Ms. Safrine (safrinem@mersd.org)
Messy Art Night Magic!
Thank you to the Friends of Essex Elementary and specifically, Elle Woulfe, for another fantastic Messy Art Night!
