Prayer for Memorial Dayπ
God of power and mercy,
you destroy war and put down earthly pride.
Banish violence from our midst and wipe away our tears,
that we may all deserve to be called your sons
and daughters.
Keep in your mercy those men and women
who have died in the cause of freedom
and bring them safely
into your kingdom of justice and peace.
We ask this though Jesus Christ our Lord.
R/. Amen

6th Grade Graduates
We are pleased to announce the following students will be graduating from Sacred Heart School.
Eden Cole, Kaydence Henning, Gracie Hill, Tessa Hine, Easton Shaffer, Kena Verville.
Each of these students has been a pleasure to watch grow in virtue, academics and faith. This class is special to us and it is with a joyful heart that we send them off to the next part of their education. The mission of Sacred Heart School is to provide a faith based education built upon the teachings of Jesus Christ. Our students are balanced: confident of mind, academics and Catholic faith. With this mission in mind, we must look at the students who are graduating. Are they balanced? Are they confident?
βLife is like riding a bicycle, in order to keep your balance, you must keep moving.β Albert Einstein.
They are moving forward! In the past 2 years we have visited Notre Dame University, Sacred Heart Seminary, Solanus Casey Center, Toledo Cathedral, Lansing Cathedral and the State Capitol. They experienced high ropes, rock climbing, and the Giant Swing at Kimball Camp and have served as Safety Patrol, Flag Crew, and lunch room Cleaners. They have served a Mass as readers, servers and ushers and have done countless service projects to help the school and church. Our graduating 6th graders have competed at Science Olympiad, Quiz Bowl, created several research projects that they presented to the community, and learned to play a string instrument well enough to perform at Mass and at a concert. They have memorized countless lines for the Christmas play and are always prepared to perform when it is time.
They achieved academic growth that is much higher than the average 6th grader and each child is set up for a lifetime of being a conscientious, active learner.
But possibly the most important growth we have seen is in faith and virtue. These 6th grade students are kind, respectful, courageous, industrious, and grateful. But we have been most impressed with their patience and forgiveness of each other. Because of their strong faith and trust in the Lord, they have learned to work very well together and achieved the seemingly impossible. They will graduate as good friends who appreciate each other. We know their parents have raised them well and are very proud of them! We thank Mrs. Martinez for serving as a wonderful teacher and mentor for the past two years. She is an exceptional example of poise and grace.
We are so pleased to present these students for graduation!! The class of 2024 is a great one! They are ready for the world. Their minds are strong and their souls are protected.
Congratulations!
God Bless,
Anne Atkin, principal
