GATE COLLECTION
Bath Tech Skills students and staff woke up very early to participate in the BIW Gate Collection this morning. Thank you to all the BIW workers who donated money to help our Skills students get to our state competition in Bangor later this spring. Because of the generosity, our students collected over $1100.00! After the counting, donuts were provided as thank you to everyone who helped.
BATH TECH ADVISORY DINNER
On October 17th, Bath Tech had it’s annual advisory dinner. Over 80 community members were in attendance to support our instructors on the needs of the community workforce. The advisory meeting started with a dinner supplied by the culinary arts students. We also had a student speaker, Katie Hall, a cosmetology student, who shared her thoughts and experiences with the group. She did a great job and is a wonderful representation of a Bath Tech student.
CONSTRUCTION CAREER DAYS
Once again this year, Bath Tech Electrical and Carpentry students visited the Construction Career Days event held in West Bath. Students were able to talk with local companies and explore careers in construction. Students were able to try out heavy equipment, welding, and other construction related tasks. A special THANK YOU to the Boothbay bus drivers for driving our students to and from the event!
SKIN LAB
CNA Students participated in a "skin lab" this week. As CNAs, students will need to learn the importance of taking care of skin. Through this activity, they learned the anatomy of the skin and then created a skin model made out of pudding, candy, and whipped cream. They were able to eat their models when they were done.
