A Week of Celebration, Connection, and Creativity Across Maple Run
As we near the holiday season, our schools have been buzzing with events that celebrate the talents, growth, and unity of our community. Here's a look at the amazing activities that took place this past week across Maple Run.
Fine Arts Night at BFA
On Monday, December 16th, BFA hosted its annual Fine Arts Night, a vibrant showcase of creativity and talent. The event featured incredible performances by BFA students alongside the SATEC and SACS choruses. From chorus and dance to theater, band, jazz band, modern band, and orchestra, the evening was filled with outstanding artistry. The building also displayed beautiful student artwork, creating a truly immersive fine arts experience. This fabulous community event highlighted the importance and impact of the arts in Maple Run!
The BFA Experience
On Tuesday, December 17th, BFA welcomed local 8th-grade students for "The BFA Experience." Students toured BFA and NCTC, exploring the diverse opportunities available as they prepare for high school. This hands-on day offered a glimpse into the many pathways and programs that help students thrive in their future endeavors.
Fairfield K-5 Empathy Celebration
Also on Tuesday, Fairfield Elementary gathered for a K-5 celebration centered on empathy. Students came together to reflect on the importance of understanding and kindness, reinforcing the values that make our district so strong.
SATEC Stay & Play
Monday marked the second Stay & Play event for SATEC’s first-grade families. These gatherings provide meaningful opportunities for parents and children to connect with teachers and peers while fostering a love for learning and collaboration.
BFA FAFSA Night
On Wednesday evening, BFA hosted a FAFSA Night to support seniors and their families in navigating the financial aid process for college. This event ensured students are equipped to take the next steps in their educational journeys.
FY26 Budget Update
The Maple Run Board met Wednesday to review Draft 2 of the FY26 budget. This ongoing process reflects our district's commitment to transparency and collaboration as we plan for the future.
Spirit Weeks and Pep Rallies
This week, schools across the district have been celebrating Spirit Week with fun themes and activities. Friday was especially lively, with pep rallies at both City School and BFA, energizing students and staff as they head into the winter break.
From creativity in the arts to preparation for the future, moments of connection, and community celebrations, this week has been a testament to the energy and dedication of Maple Run students, staff, and families. Thank you for making our district such a vibrant and supportive place to learn and grow.

Spotlight on NCTC Educators: Christian Adamczak and Andrew Moore
In Episode 15 of Tap Into Maple Run, we’re thrilled to introduce Christian Adamczak and Andrew Moore, two educators at the Northwest Career and Technical Center (NCTC) who are redefining outdoor education with their innovative approach to combining technology and the natural world.
Christian, a proud product of the Maple Run community, attended Saint Albans Town Educational Center, BFA-St. Albans, and later UVM. After completing the Teacher Apprenticeship Program (TAP) at Champlain College, Christian began his teaching career at NCTC two years ago. His deep roots in the district give him a unique perspective and connection with his students.
Andrew brings a diverse background to the team. Originally from Massachusetts, Andrew ventured out west for college before returning to New England, teaching in Maine, and finally joining Maple Run at NCTC two years ago.
Together, Christian and Andrew form a dynamic team, working across a variety of skill sets with students both on and off campus. Their work isn’t limited to high schoolers; they actively engage middle school students from other Maple Run schools, introducing younger learners to the exciting possibilities within outdoor technology.
In this inspiring episode, learn how Christian and Andrew blend hands-on learning with cutting-edge technology, preparing students for careers in emerging fields while fostering a deep appreciation for the environment. Their collaborative teaching style and outreach efforts underscore the transformative potential of education rooted in innovation and connection.
