Beadle Lake Families,
We would love to see you more often. Here are some tips for getting involved in the Beadle Lake learning community.
A FEW WAYS TO ENGAGE
1. Attend School Events- Attend open houses, back-to-school nights, and family events to meet teachers and other parents.
2. Volunteer Opportunities- Watchdogs- We always need Watchdogs to help during lunch/recess. You can eat with your child, do perimeter safety checks, and help students learn how to play organized games. We are working hard on teamwork and good sportsmanship.
Classroom Help-Check with your child’s teacher to see if they need help with anything.
Event Volunteering-Help supervise your child or a small group during field trips.
3. Join the Parent-Teacher Organization (PTO)-Become a Member-Join the PTO to stay informed and contribute to discussions about school policies and events. Help organize and run PTO sponsored events, such as fundraisers, festivals, or dances.
4. Support School Fundraisers-Participate in Fundraising Activities by encouraging readers for Read-a-Thon, buying items selling items and contributing to donation drives (Ex. Undie 500).
5. Share Your Skills-Teach a Workshop-Offer to share a skill or hobby, such as art, music, or coding, with students.
Getting involved can enhance your child’s educational experience and strengthen the school community!

Third Grade
Mrs. Mathews: My name is Mrs. Mathews, and I am so excited to teach our new curriculum resource and bringing the learning to life through hands on real-world connections. I am a published author of two books along with curriculum and journals and I am excited to bring that into my classroom with a anthology we are working on titled We’re all Mad Here. Third graders in my room are writing a fictional story based on the classic tales we have read about and creating a compilation coloring book.
Mrs. McCardell: Hello! My name is Mrs. Meg McCardell. This is my first year at Beadle Lake and my 10th year of teaching. I recently moved to Ceresco with my husband; before that, I lived in Lansing – Go Green, Go White! When I am not at school, you can find me reading as much as I can and singing in the Arts Chorale of Greater Lansing.
Ms. Robinson: Hello Families! My name is Julie Robinson. This is my 36th year teaching at Harper Creek. I'm even a graduate of HC. I attended Sonoma Elementary. I have 2 adult sons, Nick and Tim AND a dog named. Lucy. I love what I do!
GSRP
Mr. Seth: My name is Mr. Seth, and this will be my second year as an assistant teacher in the GSRP room at BLE. In my spare time, I enjoy playing video games, painting, and reading classic literature. I'm a proud cat-dad to my two kitties, Hershey and Frankie.
Miss Ashley: Hello, my name is Ashley Stap. This is my 2nd year being the Lead Teacher in the GSRP classroom at BLE. I have been working at BLE for 3 years, but I have been working with children for 15 years. My goal is to make children's first experience in a school setting a great one. We focus on social emotional skills, self-regulation skills, friendship skills, writing skills and problem-solving skills all through hands-on activities and play. When I'm not teaching, I enjoy spending time with my husband and our 3 children: AJ, Zachary, and Payson. I also enjoy going to Burn Boot Camp and working out, It's my 45 minutes of "Me" time a day.
Miss Trinity: My name is Trinity Booher and I have been a preschool teacher for 3 years and I absolutely love my fellow teachers and the students I teach. My favorite part of my job is watching them in the school growing so much and showing how much they’ve learned.
School Resource Officer
My name is Officer King. I have been the School Resource Officer at the Harper Creek Elementaries for two years. When I am not on duty, I love to play golf, workout, play video games, and travel with my amazing fiancé.
November with Mrs. Ledbetter
Greetings BLE Families & Loved Ones!
For November, we are modeling positive & flexible thinking, using a growth mindset, and having an appreciation for NEW ways of thinking, reacting, and doing things. We encourage you to help your kiddos reflect on the way they solve problems (both positive reactions and then brainstorming reactions that could be improved), setting goals for new things to try together (a new food, new author to read, new hobby together, etc.) and getting more comfortable with routines being altered or being flexible to last minute changes, which can bring up big feelings in kids (and adults!). Thanks for continuing to support your child's education not just academically, but also socially, emotionally, and behaviorally as well!
Your Partner in Education,
