PCA-SCCA District Updates
Going Digital: Online Registration Coming This Fall!
We’re excited to announce a big step forward for the PCA–SCCA School District — starting this fall, all student registration will be completed online through Infinite Campus!
For years, families have filled out thick paper packets by hand each fall, often including the same information year after year. But that’s about to change! By moving to online registration, we’re making things faster, easier, and more efficient for everyone.
Why this is great news for families:
✅ No more repetitive paperwork
✅ Update information quickly and securely from home
✅ Faster processing and fewer errors
✅ More environmentally friendly
To make this process smooth, it’s important that all families have an Infinite Campus Parent Portal account before the new school year begins.
How to get started:
Visit the Spring Creek Charter Academy or Pataula Charter Academy websites — the Parent Portal link is right on the homepage.
Don’t have an account or need help logging in? Call your child’s school, and we’ll walk you through it!
This small change will make a big impact on how we serve our families. We appreciate your support as we make this exciting transition. Let’s work together to keep things running smoothly in the 2025–2026 school year!
Celebrating Excellence: SCCA and PCA Meet All SCSC Standards for 2023-2024 Assessment
We are thrilled to announce that both Spring Creek Charter Academy (SCCA) and Pataula Charter Academy (PCA) have achieved the distinction by meeting standards in all areas of the State Charter Schools Commission's (SCSC) Comprehensive Performance Framework (CPF). This accomplishment highlights their unwavering commitment to academic excellence, financial responsibility, and operational integrity.
The CPF evaluates schools across three critical domains:
Academic Performance: Schools are assessed on student achievement and growth, ensuring they surpass the performance of their respective districts.
Financial Performance: This metric examines the schools' financial health, focusing on both immediate viability and long-term sustainability.
Operational Performance: This area evaluates governance practices and adherence to legal and regulatory requirements.
Pataula Charter Academy has consistently excelled in these areas, a testament to the dedication of its educators, administrators, and board members. Their focus on creating a nurturing and challenging learning environment has led to remarkable student outcomes. PCA was renewed for a rare 10 year renewal in 2024.
Similarly, Spring Creek Charter Academy's recent charter renewal for an additional five years underscores its success in meeting and exceeding these rigorous standards. This renewal reflects the school's steadfast dedication to providing quality education and maintaining operational excellence.
The achievements of SCCA and PCA exemplify the importance of maintaining high standards in education. Their success not only benefits their students but also sets a benchmark for educational excellence within our community. As a school district, we are proud to support and celebrate these institutions as they continue to foster environments where students can thrive academically and personally.
SCCA Expands to 12th Grade, Preparing for First Graduating Class in 2026
Spring Creek Charter Academy is proud to announce that its charter has been renewed for another five years, ensuring continued educational excellence for students from Seminole, Decatur, Miller and Grady communities. The renewal was officially approved during the February 26, 2025, meeting of the State Charter Schools Commission of Georgia (SCSC) Board of Commissioners.
“We are honored to have our charter renewed and grateful for the continued trust placed in us by the State Charter Schools Commission of Georgia,” said Kylie Holley, PCA/SCCA School District Superintendent. “This renewal is a testament to the dedication of our teachers, staff, students, and families who work together to make SCCA the best learning environment for our students.”
With this renewal, SCCA is thrilled to announce that it will be expanding to include 12th grade beginning in the 2025-2026 school year. This expansion paves the way for SCCA’s first graduating class in 2026, marking a significant milestone in the school’s history. The addition of 12th grade is part of SCCA’s long-term vision to provide a complete K-12 educational experience that prepares students for college, careers, and beyond. SCCA is fully accredited by COGNIA, and our high school students benefit from Dual Enrollment opportunities, career pathwas in Agricultre and Business, and membership in the GHSA. We also have exciting plans to grow our current Middle and JV sports programs into full Varsity offerings.
The renewal of SCCA’s charter underscores the school's continued success in meeting high academic standards, maintaining financial stability, and upholding strong organizational governance. The CPF report highlights these strengths, demonstrating that SCCA is well-positioned for future growth and success.
Facilities Update
From Vision to Reality: Building the Future of Our Schools
It’s amazing what can happen with time, vision, and a community that believes in what’s possible. Just seven years ago, Pataula Charter Academy (PCA) moved into its permanent school building. Since then, the campus has blossomed into a hub of opportunity, athletics, and learning—with new facilities that students and families enjoy every day.
From a dream to a destination, PCA now boasts a full athletic complex, including baseball and softball fields, a football field with grandstand seating and a concession stand, state-of-the-art batting cages, and a field house. A new elementary gymnasium adds space for PE and school events, and the expanded weight room supports student-athletes of all ages. And PCA isn’t finished yet—plans for an outdoor classroom, track, ticket booth, and additional stadium seating are in the works.
This progress didn’t happen overnight. It took years of planning, fundraising, construction, and—most importantly—patience. Which brings us to Spring Creek Charter Academy (SCCA).
SCCA is just beginning this exciting journey. After outgrowing our current space, we’ve taken major strides toward our future: a project management company and architectural firm are now on board, USDA financing applications have been submitted, and we’re on track to secure a construction manager this summer. Our goal is clear—to open the doors of a brand-new permanent facility before the start of the 2027–2028 school year.
We know our families are eager—and we are too! But just like PCA, this is a process. A meaningful one. The kind that ensures we build not just buildings, but a lasting foundation for learning, growth, and school pride.
The future is bright—and being built one milestone at a time.
Board Update
Meet Your Board Chair!
What’s your role on the board, and how long have you served?
I have served on the PCA/SCCA Governing Board for 3.5 years, including 2.5 years as the Board Chair.
What grades are your children in, and what made you choose PCA for your family?
Walker is in 10th grade, Hayes is in 6th grade, and Allea (the real one in charge! 😊) is in 4th grade. After graduating from Valdosta State University in 2006, I moved to Randolph County. My husband and I married in 2007 and welcomed our first child in 2009. As an over-planner by nature, I began researching schools soon after. I wanted a school where my children would be challenged, supported, and encouraged to be their best selves — a place that promotes excellence in academics and extracurriculars, but also builds character with integrity, passion, determination, and love. I found that at PCA, a true family environment.
What inspired you to get involved with the school board?
I believe deeply in the mission and principles PCA and SCCA were founded on. Over the years, I have seen firsthand the love, passion, and determination our teachers and staff pour into student success. I wanted to be part of helping both schools continue to grow, reach their goals, and expand opportunities for all students.
What’s your vision or hope for the future of the PCA/SCCA School District?
My vision is to see continued growth in our athletics and performing arts programs. I hope to enhance the resources and opportunities available to students in these areas in both of our school districts.
What’s one fun fact or interest you have outside of school board work?
I love sports and spend most of my time at baseball fields — and I’m often the loudest mama there (which I’m proud of, even if my kids might not be! 😉). I also love reading, musicals, and going to the beach.
Professionally, I’ve been a Registered Nurse for 19 years, with 8 years in Maternal/Child Health and the past 11 years serving three counties as a Public Health Nurse Manager. Public health is my true passion, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to help improve the lives of others. Outside of work, I also serve as the Youth Leader at Enterprise Baptist Church in Edison, GA. I absolutely love spending time with our youth — they teach me just as much (if not more!) than I teach them! 😊
