A NOTE FROM THE PRINCIPAL
Happy New Year!
What a great start we have had to 2025! Students are working hard to get back into the routines and structures of school after our winter break. Below are a few reminders and updates.
Weather policy: If the temperature falls below 10 degrees with the windchill factor, students will remain inside for recess time. We will do our best to accommodate some fresh air minutes, but all students need to be properly dressed for the outdoors. Jackets, hats and gloves/mittens are a must. We are also encouraging snow pants in the colder weather. Please remember to bundle up for Forest Fridays.
Winter Kids: We are excited to begin the Winter Kids play along track on Monday, January 13th. This free program is centered around helping kids develop habits to stay healthy in the winter. Through education and fun outdoor activities, students will have a chance to experience the fun of winter. Winter Kid’s theme this year is weather. Students will be participating in science based activities throughout the week, as well as on Forest Fridays. Each week, the students will earn a “prize,” which they will keep at school and use during activities for the next four weeks. To learn more about Winter Kids, check out https://winterkids.org/.
Trimester Assembly Award: We are looking forward to celebrating our trimester one award winners this afternoon. Our awards this year are: the Above and Beyond award, the Strong Effort award, and the Anchor Way award. Each classroom teacher is able to select up to six award winners each trimester. Congratulations to all of our award winners.
Best regards,
Nina Willette, Principal
