Community-Wide Announcements & Reminders
Parking on Campus
Enforcement of parking expectations (i.e. sticker and location) will begin on Tuesday, September 17. All students who park a vehicle on campus must park in the appropriate lots and have a parking sticker displayed on the bottom left hand corner of the rear windshield. To obtain a sticker, submit parking requests online and pay for permits via MySchoolBucks. After purchasing, bring the MySchoolBucks payment email to Lynda, our attendance secretary to receive your permit.
Off-Campus Privileges
Juniors and seniors with approved off-campus privileges can begin leaving school grounds during unscheduled time starting Monday, September 16. Eligibility details are in the Student Handbook (p.33). Students must sign out and in with Lynda, our attendance secretary, in Student Services prior to leaving campus and upon their return.
9th Grade NWEAs
Our 9th grade students will be taking the Northwest Evaluation Assessment at the end of September and early October. See here for a letter sent to all 9th grade students and families on Friday, 9/13, for more information
Honors Challenge
We are preparing to roll out this year’s Honors Challenge in our classes! More information will be shared from the Dean of Faculty next week. In the meantime, please review Souhegan’s Honors Challenge Guidelines here.
Laptop Chargers
It is an expectation that students come to school each day with both their laptop and their laptop charger. Our tech team has noticed a rise in requests for loaner laptop chargers and reports of lost chargers. With our supply of loaners running low, we urge everyone to check for their chargers. If a replacement is needed, families must purchase it themselves. The technology department can assist with purchasing a replacement charger for $45, or they can be bought online from various retailers.
Picture Day
Picture day is coming to Souhegan! All students will have their pictures taken on Friday, September 20 during their humanities classes. Make-up day will be on November 6 for any students who are absent on Friday or who would like a retake.
Germany Host Families
Souhegan is excited to welcome our annual German Exchange Group! We're still looking for host families to join us from October 10-27. Click here to apply to host!

Saber Spotlight

Galapagos Trip 2024
At the end of June, 16 Souhegan students embarked on the adventure of a lifetime to the Galapagos Islands. Throughout the 11 day trip students visited two islands, Santa Cruz and Isabela, and soaked in all of the incredible sights and experiences. Each day students worked with local scientists and park rangers to learn about the communities and ecosystems that make the islands so special. There was also plenty of time for fun! This included various snorkeling trips, a hike up the Sierra Negra, the second largest caldera in the world that is still an active volcano, and biking to the Wall of Tears. We also had a night of surprise salsa dancing lessons, in which the sea lions also decided to join in on the fun! Each day was met with encounters from a variety of endemic species including tortoises, sea lions, blue-footed boobies, and a variety of iguanas and lava lizards.

Eric Perry
What is your role at Souhegan?
I teach Earth Systems Science on Team 9B.
How long have you been with Souhegan?
I am brand new to Souhegan! So, if you count New Teacher Training, about 3 weeks!
What do you love about your job?
I love that I have a job that I enjoy immensely and that I care deeply about. I love the energy that I get from being around the students and the staff, especially on this campus; people here are amazing! I love that I get to share my passion for Earth and Space Science with my students! I love feeling like part of this community and am so excited to attend the games, plays, concerts, and maybe even jam in the faculty band! I LOVE Souhegan already, so thank you to everyone for making me feel so welcome. It means the world.
What do you like to do outside of work?
I am a big lover of music, so rarely does a day go by that I don't play my guitar and sing. I don't play my drums as much as I used to, but try to hop on the kit at least once a week. I also love to record and write original music. When the weather is nice, my wife and I love to hike, kayak, and go to outdoor concerts. But maybe best of all is just being home with our dog Lily, and our cat Mona.
If you were given one wish what would it be?
If I had one wish I would end global hunger.
Do you have a favorite quote or mantra?
You got this!!
