Cedar Grove Friday Flash
February 23, 2024
Dear Cedar Grove Families:
MCPS wants to hear from you on how we are doing. All students, staff and parents/caregivers are invited to share your experiences and thoughts on academics, communication, and overall satisfaction with your school and the district and/or experience working at MCPS. Your input and insight are essential in helping us understand what is working well and areas of improvement. Your participation and any identifying information are completely confidential. The feedback collected will be used to inform decisions and help create a more supportive and enriching environment for students, staff, and families in our district.
Click here to access more information about the surveys.
Have a wonderful weekend!

Reminder - Chromebooks for Home Use
We know that there is the possibility that MCPS will move to virtual learning should we have additional closures due to snow. If this occurs, it is important for children to have a device from which they can access learning on those days. If you do not have a device at home, this is the time to order one from our central office, as Cedar Grove will not be sending devices home. Please complete the Chromebook Form to Distribute to Families to request a home use Chromebook. It takes some time to get the home use device sent to Cedar Grove to distribute to your children, so please consider that when you decide to request a home use device.
Grade Level Newsletters
Parents, please click on your child's grade level to view class weekly newsletters. Any questions regarding the content of the newsletters should be directed to your child's teacher. Thank you.
From Mrs. Hirschhorn, Media Specialist
Please revisit the February 2024 Media Monthly for updates on our grade 5 book club and new books that we're processing. Even though the number of books has come down, we're still getting some amazing titles here and there. Of course, our March Book Madness read alouds event is underway. Please encourage your students to read the first eight books, which will be on the first ballot, coming out Monday and closing March 1. This year it's a battle between oldies (previous winners) and newbies! Students can watch our bracket change after the first ballot! We also hope you're watching the morning news show - it's always packed full of information about what's going on in the building. And our fourth grade crew and fifth grade producers are doing such a wonderful job!
Art, Music, and PE Newsletter
