Congratulations to everyone for working together to ensure a successful school year in the midst of a COVID-19 pandemic. The finish line for this school year is only 7 weeks away and we plan to keep our health and safety precautions in place until the last day of school. The safety of our employees and students remains our 1st priority. As we enter these final weeks, TCS will continue to follow the CDC recommendations to wear masks, social distance, wash hands, and sanitize buildings in order to safely complete this school year.

Class of 2021 Senior Kirsten Walls has been awarded a SSA (School Superintendents of Alabama) scholarship. Walls plans to attend Jacksonville State University and major in education. Walls and other SSA Scholarship winners were selected by the Superintendents who were chosen for the SSA/Schneider Electric Superintendent of the Year Award (which includes Dr. Pattie Neill, TCS Superintendent). T-shirt designs can mobilize a faculty and encapsulate the essence of an entire school year. That's certainly the case at Paine Elementary School, which will soon add to its gallery of t-shirt canvas art. Starting with the 2018-2019 School Year t-shirt design (art teacher Courtney Holland), 2019-2020's t-shirt (also Mrs. Holland) and 2020-2021's t-shirt (art teacher Angela Santiago) will soon live in perpetuity on the lunchroom walls at Paine. All three designs have been transformed to canvas art to commemorate the many successes during each school year.

Many Cahaba Elementary students, faculty, and staff dressed in blue to recognize the fourteenth annual World Autism Awareness Day, April 2, 2021.

Joined by the international community, hundreds of thousands of landmarks, buildings, homes and communities around the world come together each April 2 to Light It Up Blue in recognition of people with autism and those who love and support them. Autism-friendly events and educational activities take place all month, aiming to increase understanding and acceptance of people with autism, foster worldwide support and inspire a kinder, more inclusive world.

Magnolia Elementary School welcomed and thanked Charlotte Gibson and Martha Vaughan, members of the Josiah Brunson Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, for their generous donation of three books to the Magnolia Elementary School Library.

Hewitt-Trussville Middle School's SCA is looking ahead to next week...ensuring students are properly nourished ahead of state summative assessments. SCA members delivered baskets of treats to the middle school this week, bringing smiles to many faces!

Five AP (Advanced Placement) teachers at Hewitt-Trussville High School have been named AP Readers on behalf of the College Board's Advanced Placement Program and the Educational Testing Service. These educators include Rhonda Brittain, Jennifer Coleman, Lacey deShazo, Jill Greene, and Kurt Kristensen. This prestigious honor allows these faculty members to contribute a "huge part of the AP Program's success" which "reflects the high standards of AP Readers who, by virtue of their experience and expertise, have appropriate student performance expectations within their respective disciplines," according to a College Board/AP news release. We congratulate these AP teachers!

"Huskies Hoops Star" Amiya Payne has been named the Class 7A Alabama Basketball Player of the Year by the Alabama Sports Writers Association (ASWA). In an article with AL.com, Payne said, “This year I had to take more of a leadership role. The last few years I was not as vocal as I should have been. I had to encourage my teammates and bring energy to the game.” Hewitt-Trussville Lady Huskies Head Coach Tonya Hunter calls Payne's work ethic "unmatched."

The HTHS Hospitality and Culinary Arts Academy has once again placed in America's Top 10 for the NASA HUNCH Culinary Challenge! (Last year, HTHS won 1st Place!). Sponsors HUNCH and Sullivan University continue to craft COVID-friendly plans whereby teams can still be involved in the final cook-off and judging events. That event is scheduled for April 22nd. The American Culinary Federation is scheduled to be involved in this livestreamed event. Kudos to Academy Director Mrs. Anna Hallman and her student chefs!

The Academy of Craft Training (ACT) named Hewitt-Trussville High School student David Johnson as March's Employee of the Month for Welding. Johnson scored the highest score based on ACT's employability scale this month. The employees of the month receive a tool from one of ACT's industry partners. In addition, ACT highlights students like Johnson on-site and through social platforms. We congratulate David Johnson on his success!

• Registration fee of $300.00 (SR 2 registration is $350.00)
• This registration fee covers most of your daughter’s needs for the season including uniform, camp clothes, shoes, pom poms, bag and ribbons!
• Debit and credit card payments only
• Your daughter must be eligible to enroll in 1st – 6th grades through Trussville City Schools

Uniform fittings will be IN PERSON

• Fittings will be held at the Trussville Civic Center
• April 25th from 2:30pm-5:30pm
• May 3rd from 5:00pm-7:00pm
• You only need to attend one fitting. Specific times for each squad will be announced after the close of online registration.
