Committed to the Work!
Week #4 at H.M.S.
Principal's Message
Greetings H.M.S.!!
Our Back-To-School Night was a huge success. Your classrooms were very welcoming. Our parents and students shared several positive comments. Congratulations to the new members of the Girl's Basketball Ball Team! Great Job!... to each student that participated in the try-outs.
On Monday, we will enter Week #4, and we look forward to having the Superintendent and Directors on our campus for their monthly meeting. As we prepare to dive into another week of teaching and learning, remember to plan for success. Begin to display student work, continue to collaborate and maintain an effective, engaging, and conducive educational environment.
Our 6th graders will conduct the morning announcements; the 7th graders did an excellent job last week. VGA Testing will begin on Tuesday.
Thank you all for being committed to the work of Henderson.

- Passes should not be given to students after 3:00pm daily.
- After 3:00pm, students should not be in the hallways for any reason.
- Designated break locations need to be established for students that are "authorized" 5 minutes breaks. They should not be allowed to roam the hallways
Class Transitions
This is a reminder that class transitions should be conducted smoothly, quietly and orderly. Students should not be left unattended or allowed to roam the hallways. Students should be corrected if banging on walls, windows, or doors. Teachers should be at their classroom doors to receive students in the morning, and when students are transitioning back from electives.
15/15 Rule - Bathrooms
To maintain smooth transitions and overall safety, bathrooms will be locked 15 minutes at the start of and 15 minutes prior to the end of each class period. Teachers and staff are asked to adhere to this rule daily. Bathrooms should "not" be opened by teachers, only authorized staff.
