Mid-August Principal's Notes
Almost there
A message from the Principal's Desk
Mid-August Principal's Notes
Dear St. Anne Catholic School Families,
I hope this message finds you well and enjoying the last few weeks of summer! As the start of the school year approaches, we are eagerly counting down the days until our halls are once again filled with the energy and joy of our students. Can you believe it's just a few more sleeps until we're all together again on August 27th? I can hardly wait!
Next week, our dedicated teachers are returning to school for inservice days, where they will spend time preparing for the year ahead and praying for our entire school community. I ask that you keep them in your prayers as they get ready to welcome your children back into their classrooms.
Please mark your calendars for our Open House on August 22nd from 5-7 PM. This is a wonderful opportunity to meet your child’s teacher, see their classroom, and reconnect with friends old and new. We look forward to seeing you there as we kick off another fantastic year at St. Anne of Somerset.
Thank you for your continued support and partnership. Together, let’s make this school year our best one yet!
Blessings,
Bruce Whynott

Athletics
Hello sports fans:
We are excited to welcome sports back into our facility. Signups are currently underway, especially for the fall season. My deadline for team submissions to the CAA is the middle of August for Fall sports. If you are interested in playing, NOW IS THE TIME! Students in 5th-8th grades are welcome to join the teams.
Last year we had enough to form two teams, but due to late registrations we were only able to submit one team. Please sign up ASAP.
The schedules will be known closer to September. The Catholic Athletic Association creates our game day schedules. Our practice schedules will be known once we know how many volleyball players we have. Volleyball teams typically begin to play about two weeks into the school year. Please use this link to sign up. OPTION C
Kindergarten and First Grade Drop Off.
Dear Kindergarten and 1st Grade Parents,
As we prepare for the start of the school year, I want to take a moment to discuss the importance of the morning drop-off routine. We understand that saying goodbye to your little ones can be emotional, but how you handle this transition can significantly impact your child's day. Our goal for kindergarten and first-grade students is to become self-sufficient by the end of the first week. To support this, we encourage all families to work towards saying their goodbyes outside of the school building. Experience has shown us that students handle the transition much better when parents do not accompany them inside. It helps them start their day with confidence and independence.
Pre-K Drop Off
For our Pre-K families, we ask that you guide your child in putting away their belongings during drop-off. This small but important step helps them learn where their things are, which is a great skill as they prepare to move up to kindergarten. Encouraging this responsibility now will set the foundation for a smooth independent transition in the future. Our goal is that within the next month (or even sooner), your student will feel comfortable with drop-off in the entryway. We will have familiar staff members there to greet and welcome them into the school with open arms.
Thank you for your cooperation in making these transitions as smooth as possible for our young learners.
Open House
August 22nd 5-7. I would like to personally invite you to our Open House. This event is a wonderful opportunity for families to drop off school supplies and meet the teachers. You will also have the chance to meet your teacher and I hope you will introduce yourself to me.
During the Open House, there will be stations set up for completing essential administrative tasks. You can fill out forms for example extended day ensuring your child has a safe and engaging place to go after school. Additionally, you can add money to your child's lunch account, making the first days of school smooth and stress-free.
I look forward to welcoming you and your children to our school community. This event is an excellent opportunity to start the school year on the right foot, with all necessary preparations taken care of in advance.
Donalds
Donald’s (Payne Avenue in St. Paul) is the authorized and social school uniform supplier for St. Anne Catholic School. You can purchase uniform articles online at www.donaldsuniform.com. School uniform items can also be purchased at other stores as long as they follow our school uniform guidelines. We also have a great selection of gently used uniforms at school that would love new homes! The uniform exchange will be available during our Open House.
Enrollment update
Our current PreK - 8 enrollment is 114. We are still accepting 2024-25 registrations. Pre-k, second, and fifth-grade classes are full. If you know of families who are interested in our school, please have them contact me at bwhynott@stanne-somerset.org or call 715-247-1304 to set up an appointment/tour.

Kitchen Remodel
Hallways are calling your students names.
Immunizaiton forms
Immunization forms (ALL Kindergarten - 8th-grade students and new families - NEED to be returned by September 15th and have to be completed on paper as proof of immunization.)
We need to report to the Diocese of Superior, the State of Wisconsin, and our accrediting association, WRISA. We have an excellent compliance record as a fully accredited Catholic school and would like to continue that status. Thank you for your cooperation in completing this paperwork.
Staffing Updates and Needs
Welcome Danielle Bullock! Danielle has accepted to be our teacher aide this year. We very thankful to have her join our community and share her talents with us.
We are currently seeking an Afterschool Coordinator to oversee our students from 2:45 to 6 p.m. each day. The coordinator would be in charge of the programming, staffing, and supervision of activities. In addition to the coordinator, we are also looking to hire high school or college students to assist in the program on a scheduled basis, with no need to commit to every day. This role provides an excellent opportunity for students to fulfill their required 80 volunteer hours for graduation or to earn some extra cash. If you know anyone who might be interested, please encourage them to apply!
Option C
Please login in to Option C to complete all forms before the first day of school.
Option C is our student management system. Option C is used for grades, communication via text, email or voice, volunteer sign up, payments, school forms. OptionC's Parent Alert System is a flexible notification system that allows quick and reliable communication to parents and staff pertaining to school closings, reminders, schedule changes, Principal Page, weekly faculty memos, etc. Users can decide how they want to be reached, either by voice, text, email, or any combination.
New families check your email for usernames and passwords that were sent out early July. If you forgot your password you can choose the "forgot password" option to reset. Please email Mrs. Mallery if you need further assistance KMallery@stanne-somerset.org.
Many thanks
Tuition
Statements were mailed at the beginning of July and Option I payments - payments in full with a 3%discount, are due by August 15th. Families not paying in full should have completed and submitted FACTS materials (automatic monthly deduction from checking/savings) to have payments begin in August. Please contact Renee Rivard, Parish/School Bookkeeper (715-247-1325) if you have any questions.
Volunteers
Attention all volunteers - Safe and Sacred Training update - The Diocese of Superior (DOS) utilizes Catholic Mutual (the DOS insurer) to process all background checks and training for employees and volunteers. Volunteers who have contact with children need to be background checked and complete “Safe Environment” training. Training needs to be completed once every five years. If you have completed the process within the last five years, you are in the system. If you are a new family, or you are not yet “certified”, and are interested in volunteering at school (e.g. attending a field trip) please go to
https://superior.cmgconnect.org and sign up as a “new user”. Once you complete the training and background check, we will have the record of your certification. Thank you for your cooperation with these diocesan requirements, and if you have any questions, please use the “Support” tab on the CMG site.
This year we are tying something new. We are using the Vincent Volunteers found in Option C. Please login to Option C to sign up instead of OnVolunteers that we used previously.

Mission Statement
The mission of St. Anne Catholic School is to teach and form our students in the Roman Catholic faith while preparing each of them for their next level of formal academic learning. Families who join us commit to our mission, philosophy, and vision, and students who complete their education and faith formation at St. Anne Catholic School are:
- grounded in their Catholic faith and values;
- prepared for their next level of formal education;
- exposed to opportunities for service to others that should instill in them a sense of responsibility--if not a desire--to want to do more for others utilizing the education and the gifts God has given each of them and we as a parish school community have helped develop.
...Grounded in Catholic faith and values;
...Well prepared academically;
...Ready to further serve and lead.
A Roman Catholic Grade School teaching the faith and serving students in the Somerset, Wisconsin and surrounding area since 1890.
