MUSTANG SPOTLIGHT - MELISSA GURCHENSKY, READING INTERVENTION SPECIALIST AT KINSNER & MURASKI
Mrs. Melissa Gurchensky is a Reading Intervention Specialist at both Muraski and Kinsner Elementary Schools. Mrs. Gurchensky is starting her fourth year working in our District. She has been in education for seventeen years and earned her undergraduate degree from Kent State University and her graduate degree from Cleveland State University.
“Working with students in small groups, I get to build strong relationships with them. I love getting to know their interests and hearing them make personal connections to what we are learning. As a reading teacher, I love seeing the enthusiasm my students have for learning new things. The students I work with demonstrate resilience every day and it is so rewarding to see their confidence as readers grow.”
“The teachers and staff at both Muraski and Kinsner go above and beyond to ensure all students' needs are met. I work with two great intervention teams that are always willing to support each other by sharing resources, collaborating on lessons, or just talking through challenges that may arise. In my role, I also love being able to enter many different classrooms and see the amazing and fun lessons students are participating in each day. I am so lucky I get to work with people who are creative, flexible, positive, and above all else have a passion for helping students succeed.”
Thank you Mrs. Gurchensky for helping your students continue to grow and develop their love of learning! #ModelMustang
