Below you will find a letter from our Executive Director of Elementary Services regarding Mrs. Erb's and Mrs. Womack's absence. Thank you for your time and attention to this matter.
Comanche Springs Families:
We would like to make you aware of a temporary change to the campus administrative support. As you may know, Comanche Spring’s principal Amy Erb has been out due to a family illness, and Elizabeth Lopez Hatley has been substituting for her. Mrs. Hatley is a retired principal and former EMS ISD School Board member. We are so grateful to have her at Comanche Springs until Mrs. Erb’s return.
Mrs. Hatley has been working closely with your Assistant Principal, Mrs. Destiny Womack. Mrs. Womack will also need to be out from October 9 through December 2 for a previously scheduled, mandatory surgery. Mrs. Womack’s substitute administrator will be Dr. Linda Parker, retired EMS ISD Deputy Superintendent (and principal).
We are so thankful to these highly experienced educators for their commitment to Comanche Springs. They would love for you to introduce yourself if you have the opportunity. Additionally, as Executive Director of Elementary Services, I will be visiting the campus weekly to provide additional support. I have included the contact information for you below, and you can also continue to contact your campus office for assistance.
We know with Mrs. Hatley and Dr. Parker, Comanche Springs will continue to thrive under experienced leadership until Mrs. Erb and Mrs. Womack are able to return. We look forward to working beside the Comanche Springs community to ensure an excellent educational experience for our students.
Respectfully,
Beth Sanders

A Note from Mrs. Taylor
Welcome to the School Counselor's Corner!
The counseling department will be extremely busy this month. October is bullying prevention month. I will be visiting classrooms to teach about bullying. The students will learn about the three components of bullying: it must be on purpose (with the intent to harm), happen over and over (not a one-time incident), and there must be an imbalance of power. Most of the time, it is just a mean moment or conflict. Students will also learn about the four types of bullying (verbal, social, physical, and cyber).
Red Ribbon Week is around the corner. We will have a kick-off RRW on Monday, October 28, we have some fun activities and a presentation scheduled for our students (sponsored by our fabulous PTA). Spurs will be collecting canned goods from October 28-November 1 as part of our community outreach for Community Link. The grade level with the most cans (must reach 100) will win a popcorn party! Be on the lookout for our Red Ribbon Week Flyer.
We recently elected our Spur Ambassador & Kindness Club officers. We are kicking off the year with a pop-tab collection for the Ronald McDonald House. We will collect pop tabs all year long, please send them in with your student. Small tabs make a big difference in our community.
If I can ever be of any assistance, please email me at ktaylor02@ems-isd.net or call me at 817-847-8700 Ext. 4010.
