The Scoop!
Cedar Hills Elementary - September 20, 2024

February 28, 2025 - Principal's Note
We made it through our first full week in what feels like a very long time! I bet there were a lot of tired students this week and I'd venture to say that staff were feeling the same way. We've enjoyed getting back into the swing of things, connecting with our kiddos, and reestablishing routine and consistency. I'm hopeful that the winter weather is behind us and we can look towards warmer weather for good!
Thank you to the PTO and those that were able to join us Tuesday to talk about Mental Health in our classrooms, strategies we are implementing at CHE, and some tools that you can use at home. We have an amazing Mental Health team at CHE -- frankly, I've never worked with such a skilled and collaborative team.
I'm also excited to share that our Mental Health team will be getting larger! Blue Valley received a grant through the state of Kansas and we are one of the twelve BV schools that demonstrated a need for more Mental Health support. We are receiving the support of a new position - Mental Health Liaison. This person will be a degreed professional and they will help support our students, staff, and the community. It will offer us a new level of service and care to students, staff, and our families! If you know anyone that may be interested, please let me know!
Have a great week!

- Eid al Fitr - March 31 - marks the end of Ramadan, the Muslim holy month of fasting. Some families will celebrate the “Festival of Breaking the Fast” by joining in communal prayer and meals, visiting family, gift-giving, and charity.
Civility For All - Students, Staff, and Community
We are thankful for the ongoing partnership and support we experience in our school community. Working together we ensure the best possible student experience allowing them to realize personal success. There are times, however, when issues arise which require our continued collaboration to resolve. Families may utilize the matrix linked on the district website to best address questions and concerns that may arise throughout the course of a school year. Finally, all staff and visitors should conduct their business free from intimidation, harassment, or bullying. The district’s Board of Education states expectations regarding civility within Policy 6341. Again, thank you for your partnership in helping to maintain a safe school community environment for all.
