Wolverine Wednesday Weekly

This week we have continued our MAP testing focusing on Math. All students have shown excellence when taking these tests by using Godwin PRIDE especially Persenvence. Thank you to all.

Our goal is to support our scholars in any way we can. We have begun after school tutoring everyday from directly after school until 3:15 in our media center. Please encourage your child to attend for extra support. No need to sign up, they can just attend. Transportation will not be provided following this event.

Again as we partner together to make it a great learning experience this school year, feel free to reach out with any questions or concerns. We are happy to work together for success.

Students:

Be sure to get a good night's sleep, eat a hearty breakfast, and go the bathroom before testing. Make sure you bring:

• your Chromebook charged & updated
• a book to read when you are finished
• A waterbottle (optional)

Turn off and leave cell phones and electronic devices in your backpacks

WHAT IS MAPS?

The Measures of Academic Progress (MAP) are a set of computer-based assessments in reading, language usage, and mathematics that measure growth and performance. Each MAP test provides a single “snapshot” of students’ foundational skills and knowledge as they progress through grade levels. It is important to understand that each MAP is a single test at one point in time. MAP tests do not measure intelligence or a student’s capacity for learning, just the knowledge they have obtained thus far. The best way to support your student is to make sure they get a good night's rest and a hearty breakfast.

Your student ID is required to get into ALL athletic events.

***** REMINDER THAT YOU HAVE YOUR STUDENT ID ON YOUR STUDENT VUE AT ALL TIMES.

Just in case you don't have your original student ID. You can pull up student Vue on your phone and show your ID when you buy a ticket. Open studentvue and select student information and your ID will show up. This is an example below:

If you missed orientation, picture retakes will be held on Monday, October 2nd. These pictures will be used for your students yearbook, records, and school ID. If your student doesn't have an ID, please make sure they attend retakes. They will receive their ID after this date.

If your child NEEDS an ID before then for any reason, we can create a temporary ID - have them contact the office.

The upcoming Feeding America food truck is scheduled for Tuesday, September 19 at 4:00 pm in the high school bus lane. Feeding America West Michigan program is an initiative dedicated to addressing hunger and improving food security in West Michigan. The Mobile Food Pantry program operates as a mobile farmers market. Before each event, a food bank truck is loaded with 5,000 – 20,000 pounds of food. More than 30 percent of the food distributed through this program is fresh, frozen, or shelf-stable fruits and vegetables, ensuring that our community receives nutritious options. Along with fresh, nutritious food, this program equips individuals with knowledge and tools to build a foundation for a healthy life. Join us in making a difference in our community.

STEM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math. Let's celebrate that! Please join us for a night of fun with science activities and math experiences.
